If you conceived your first easily ..

Did you have the same experience with your second? Obviously any responses will be anecdotal, and logic indicates that another easy conception would be more likely than not, but I'm curious .. Of course anything can/can't happen!

No. First conceived quickly (one cycle after discontinuing birth control pills). Second pregnancy took 4 months of trying and ended in miscarriage, as did 3rd and 4th.

I think back to how naive I was when I got pregnant with DD - I knew almost nothing about the way that fertility works. We were not paying attention to timing at all. It never occurred to me that I might have trouble conceiving/carrying to term. Of course I knew people who'd had fertility treatments or had other issues getting pregnant. I just never, ever thought that would happen to me.

I know better now.

Yes - conceived both the first month trying. I used OPK and I come from a long line of VERY fertile women.

Nope. I'm a lesbian, so we used frozen donor sperm via an iui. Conceived the first on the first try just before my 34th birthday. Started trying for the second when I was 36.5. Took 18 months. It sucked. But it was worth it.

Did clomid, trigger shots and injectibles. Had several HSGs. One early miscarriage. Ironically, the one that worked was where we didn't use any drugs or trigger shot. Just a straight up iui, like when I conceived the first one.

No explanation other than the right egg wasn't meeting the right sperm and landing in the right spot.

I was so very confident that I would conceive right away. Several months of staring at a blank pregnancy test knocked me right off my pedestal.

Good luck to you.

Yes, both kids were conceived in the first full month after I went off BC. They are 2 years and 5 days apart.

Second was easier than the first. The first took 6mos after stopping BC pills but I had been on the shot for many years which I had stopped 6 months before we started trying, not sure if that had anything to do with it. The second took two cycles after stopping BC pills.

yes - 1st in 1st month, 2nd literally 1st try (dont ask how we know that, but we do

Tons of threads about this already. You will get anecdotes ranging from "conceived on the first try both times" to OMG I think I have secondary infertility b/c this is taking so long. No way of knowing what will happen in your case.

Yes. First at age 35 without trying. Second at age 37 after 3 months of not using protection (we were not taking temps or using fertility calendars).

OP here - I know, see original post. I appreciate hearing others' experiences, in any case.

Okay then. Not sure what is to be gained by it though or what people can say that hasn't already been said.

"Conceiving" was easy for me and I didn't start until age 38. The first two pregnancies ended in miscarriage, though. Carried to term with the 3rd. All happened within about 6 months.

Yes. First try at 34.75 for first born. First try at 37.5 for second born. healthy, easy pregnancies and deliveries...worked out until I went to deliver. no induction, no medicine (not time), no c-section.

I come from a long line of very fertile women. No miscarriages either. I really do think a lot is genetic.

Both kids were conceived on the first try. I was 35 and 37. I have never had a miscarriage. I think I am just lucky because I get the impression that I am not the norm.
