What's the GBRS?
8/9 will be tough, 13/14 will be fine, 10/11/12 is hard to tell.

99% cogat? That seems pretty high.

of course its pretty high. However, the decision wont be just based on a test score. There are other factors ( NNAT score, GBRS, progress report ...). Best of Luck to all!

OK, I'm the jerk PP. 99th percentile? Oh, ok. I thought she meant 99 - just a score of 99! My bad.

how do you know the GBRS already? Inside information?

Your child sounds similar to mine.

He had a relatively low NNAT (113) and a high CogAT (97%)

His first grade grades were mixed... lots of 3s. His second grade grades were almost all 3s first quarter, and all 4s this quarter.

I have no idea bout his GBRS, but let's assume a moderate one...

what are his changes?

Really? I'm surprised anyone is saying that b/c this poster's child isn't in the pool automatically. My child had a slightly higher NNAT and similar CogAT, pretty much all O's (last year's report card) and we didn't refer. In fact, when I've asked the AART about whether I should have or whether I should this year, she gives a vague answer like "let's give ___ another year and see." The impression I have is that AART thinks DC is fine at the base school... AART is certainly not encouraging me to parent refer. I'm thinking OP would be a case where a WISC of 130+ would be needed.

Last year 97% nationally was not in pool. This year with local scoring it is.
