Be honest. I wonder what the real prepping factor is here. And you all know what I mean by prep - like Mercer, practice tests, courses, etc not the "we read alot and eat well" prep.

Also a 97% with no prep. I had planned to give him a few practice questions that I found for free on websites, but I never got around to it.

Had I give him the practice questions, I don't know that it would have helped, as it seems that the practice questions that they did in class were just as comprehensive (I know that because my son remembered them verbatim, his answers, the correct answers and why they were correct according to his teacher).

I can assure you they were given the practice questions. It's part of the test administration script. It's not some optional thing done on another day.

In our community, all of the Asian moms prepped. Which was okay until one of the 2nd grade (non-Asian) children announced it very loudly in the school hallway upon dismissal. Everyone heard it, even the principal, who turned around. At some colleges, the number of "heavily prepped" kids are capped for legal reasons. They can not accept one particular group to the detriment of others. So this will likely become a problem in the not too far future. For which group? It will be interesting.

PP here. You do not want to have to prep your child for the test, as it is not an accurate indication of their capabilities. You will be doing them more harm than good; if you are familiar with AAP, you already know this.
