Snow day

ITA there is no progress on grading since school was dismissed for the Holidays. This day would have been better spent on grading vs. providing free babysitting to the parents who cannot tolerate their kids company for another day.

Parenting by getting your kids ready for and to school sounds hard. You can do it (or you can keep them home).

Then keep your kids home. Nobody is stopping you.

Yeah and then have my high schooler get behind on assignments? Not an option. He has to go now even though there’s not a place to stand to wait for his bus. So asinine.

Then drive him to school.

That’s not an option as it’s in the middle of the work day - you are tone deaf.

Take a day off work, then (like other parents this week).

I see, I have to call my work for an "emergency" and then get unpaid ( I don't get paid time off).
An "emergency" due to stupidity of our school district oblivious to the condition of residential roads and school bus stops? Or your emergency having to deal with your own kids?

Yes, call your work like other parents have this week. You got it now.

I don’t understand Reid changing her tune. All the concern about walkers and bus riders for what.

You’ve all been so dramatic for the past four days about your kids being home for snow days. Grow up.

I plan to drive my kids to school.

McLean roads are terrible. The side roads that lead to our elementary will not be safe for walkers as sidewalks are not cleaned and the two lane road will only be one lane.

I know my kids will be fine. I can’t say the same for others.

I worked for FCPS for 5 years in hs…there will be a ton of school ditching tomorrow. My son’s (elementary) school clearly recognizes that more people than usual will drive their kids tomorrow rather than have them brave the bus stops because they sent out a talking points saying to beware the the kiss and ride line will be “very long.”

The end of Reid’s email seems like a total CYA. PWCPS says parents have the “option” of not sending their kids to school. It says they will have to make up work but will NOT be penalized academically and be excused.
Of course FCPS doesn’t mention anything about that.

Yeah this is so ridiculous. Either today had to be on or tomorrow is a complete waste of money and resources

You people are infuriating. It’s a complete waste of money and resources to go to school on a weekday? Honestly get a grip.
To warm up every building and bus just to have to shut everything down 5 hours later for what’s ultimately going to be a day full of YouTube videos and Kahoot? Yeah

Welcome to the real world, where going to work and school isn’t based on feeling like it.

Oh, grow up. You’re such a toddler.

They are going back!!!!!

You all are legitimately pathetic. You should be embarrassed. I know, you aren’t, but you should be. Truly.

Well a lot of people feel differently about that. My girlfriend Honey was saying that it is very disruptive to have a 2 hour delay for her son. He prefers things to be on time or not start at all.

He can stay home then! Drinoog and cheering with my neighbor we are so happy our kids are back at schooo

Lazy, lazy parents. Sad.
