This guy did a lot of planning but also made a lot of silly mistakes.

1. Should never have spent the night at hostel
2. Should never have used a Citibike that can be tracked (although a bike was a good idea)
3. Should not have taken a taxi
4. Should not have left behind water bottle garbage for DNA
5. Should have gotten off Manhattan as quickly as possible (bike to Brooklyn or the Bronx)
6. Should have had a car parked somewhere without cameras so that he could eventually drive away
7. Should have taken apart gun and disposed of it in different locations after he got away

Nobody has time to provide a good summary till TLDR and I am never doing this again, He came from a very rich family. He had a major health injury. Apparently, the loss of his grandparents shortly after high school graduation had a dramatic impact on him. His family owns assisted living facilities. Is interest in reading or reflect a lot of varied view points from Joe Rogan RFK nut job to progressive AOC. Interest in psychedelics also most importantly, probably Tim urban. Most of you probably don’t know Tim urban he’s an online writer and he became fairly reviled in 2022 when he published something where he essentially outed himself as a centrist. So is the shooter mentally ill is he centrist? Is he all over the map? Who knows?

Just another incel probably living in his parents basement.

There’s no way that guy was incel. Woman have been throwing themselves at him since he could shave.

This article says the “weapon was consistent” with the one used, but it says he was carrying a ghost gun. Can you use any billet with a ghost gin? There’s no DNA. And his backpack was found Friday by the carousel, but he left days earlier. Also, the 5 minutes arrival.

I think the prosecuters are going to have their work cut out for them. We’ll see if the jury is willing to convict on a fake ID and manifesto. Unless he acts as his own lawyer, then it will be easy.

Poor English, poorly written. America 2024

How did this young man know the exact time the UHC CEO would be walking out? Even weirder now.

TSA uses facial recognition now. There's no way he could have flown.

He could have flown the day it happened before his partial photo was everywhere.

A young man randomly hanging out in the middle of nowhere PA makes you look extremely suspicious. Dead-end rust belt towns are all townies and elderly people.

They would have tracked him if he’d flown.

I don't know that they would have, or if they did, it would take awhile. He could have been across the globe in a country without an extradition treaty before they even released their crappy pics.

Flying is expensive and requires credit cards and valid IDs. Would also have to toss all of the fake IDs.

That said, should have bought a Rolex on a credit card and flown to a foreign country. Rolex can be sold for quick cash.

Hanging out in middle PA is a lame after such apparent methodical planning.

This is a pretty wacky ending. How could he think this was a good idea? Did the popular reaction make him cocky? People might talk a big game when they're behind a keyboard at home, but it turns out people are nervous around murderers.

It's much, much easier to plan a surprise attack than to escape detection afterward.
It's a sudden huge shift in advantage in the scenario.
It's a different universe before vs after. It's bound to collapse.

He probably thought they were going to catch him much faster. He probably could have bought himself time if he flew that day

Too many cameras with flying. Including all the facial recognition stuff. And too much of a trail with credit cards. Buying a flight with cash would be super suspicious. Greyhound not so much.

Every headline is ex Ivy Leaguer. An alumnus is not an ex student.
