Dont feel sorry let's move on to new LR AAP center!

I was disappointed that SB did not let the rising 4th and 5th graders stay at Haycock. But why do we want to stay at a school that SB, Haycock leaders, teachers and base-school community
think you don’t belong and are the root causes of everything unpleasant at Haycock? Please stop feeling sorry for us/ourselves! Students are the most important part of a great school! If our kids are truly great kids, they will learn and excel in any school! Let’s start to work together to make LR a best AAP center! Stay tuned for the new forum and discussion groups! We should be proud of our kids! They will be shining stars at the new school! cheers!

Agree! The LR community is fabulous and they have been very welcoming. Out with the old and in with the new!

True! The School Board and FCPS will give the new Lemon Road AAP Center anything they want right now because of how the Haycock folks treated them.

at the end of the day, all you want is a happy, healthy and smart kid! and he/she is in a secure, welcoming and orderly school with his/her equally capable peers! the rest of it, he/she needs to work hard, behave, play, and be with loving and motivated parents! I heard that a lot of top students at Haycock are from Cluster II! so the school doesnt define how good your kid is!

It would be nice if that were true, but I don't think it is.

Yeah, those grapes were sour anyway! That's the attitude.

I'll be very honest. You are very welcome at our school, but your reputation preceeds you. If you want to be part of our community, that is great. If you want to "takeover" our school or act like you are doing us a favor by sending your kids here, it could be rough. We are maybe more egalitarian than Haycock so dont assume AAP kids and their parents always come first. "Do onto others..."

Wow! What a buzzkill!

no one wants to take over the world!!!!!! I am sure that the coming APP kids will make LRES proud! let's have open arms and embrace each other! we'll all be happier if we treat each nicer!!

let's work together to make Lemond Road a better school!!!!!!!! there are a lot that need to be done!

I don't know if it's feasible, if more junior Haycock teachers are the first employees subject to destaffing, but it might be a nice move if a few of the best, more experienced AAP teachers at Haycock voluntarily agreed to move to Lemon Road. Perhaps this is something that could be raised with FCPS now.

Am I the only one that loves the optional uniform at Lemon Road? I wish it was mandatory. I am a big believer in school uniforms.

I am betting plenty of kids make it to TJ from Lemon Road. Haycock will lose on that score.

Elementary schools do not create TJ students. It is a combination of genetics and drive.
