Can someone explain how someone so young in the military was… a both a high ranking helicopter pilot and moonlighting as a White House aide?

The WH social aide gig is a prestigious thing. The ones I know went on to become a US Senator and a CEO.

Funny how the posters with pitchforks seem quiet now that she’s been named.

The PR angle of listing her prizes and awards and accolades was smart. They made the story instead of letting Trump make the story.

Interesting. Why does she need crisis PR? Do the two male victims in the helicopter have crisis PR? Why were their names everywhere and only hers was shielded for 3 days?

The Administration was trying to rile people up into assuming the pilot was an incompetent black woman. I don’t know how many posts I read on here and X stating the pilot was a black woman.

No. Most just assumed a woman. And they assumed right. Trump was obviously told who was senior command on that helicopter and then popped off right after on live TV.

Yes, but he popped off about ATCs, not about pilots. He suggested strongly that the cause of the crash was an ATC who was a DEI hire.

Who got the FAA director to resign?

Elon Musk.

Who terrorized federal workers for a week before this?

Elon Musk

Who fired the FAA safety advisory board?

Elon Musk/Trump

How would I know? Are you going to share your conspiracy theory now?

Why don’t we know the name of the VIP?

Was Pat Tillman’s death a baseless conspiracy too? How about the Valerie Plame leak in WaPo? Baseless conspiracy too. Nothing about this adds up.

Who cares about the VIP? This pilot slammed a helicopter into a commercial jetliner. That’s all people will remember.

She had 450 hours of flight time. How does attending a pride parade disqualifies her from being a pilot?

Tell me you have no experience with the military without telling me…

This thread really illuminates how many people in our society do not understand basic information about the military because they have never served. Many people today have not only never served, they have no family or friends who have ever served. Thus, they have no context for understanding events that involve the military.

Well, we are also getting a display by the current administration that most people don't know anything about public service and federal employment because they never took the pay cut to do that either.

Easy: she is female, they are male, and the POTUS already attacked her before her identity was revealed.

You obviously are male, since that wasn't readily apparent to you.

Geez. Her plan was ultimately to go to med school (high MCAT scores) but she wanted to serve first. Respect. I’m sorry for everyone involved in this, what a tragedy.

None of this has anything to do with the crash. And firing members of commissions and advisory boards is standard for administrations.

If I had a loved one on that airplane, I wouldn't give a da..mn about context.

Who made the decision to continue helicopter training when there was a near miss just 24 hours before the fatal crash?

I understand that 70 people are dead because the military inexplicably decided to do training in a civilian area. Being that I am a civilian over whose neighborhood they train, I think I have every right to ask questions.
