I’d be interested in your answer.

You don't start your defensive run from 15 yards away, lower your shoulder and drive through the offensive player like you are playing football without any intention of playing the ball. 2 minutes non-releasable and Landon scores man up. 13-8. Those days are long gone. Take a look at the clip and let me know https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxNGaj3FjbfkjsJ_EYjlO9fC6pd-OPLgQL?feature=shared

Dirty Hit

Neutral observer….it wasn’t a dirty hit ie not late, cheap or to the direct hit to the head.

It was a hard hit. And those hits are called now. In todays sports, any hard hit is called a penalty. Doesn’t matter where the initial contact is made. It sucks, but it is where we are. 15 years ago (maybe even 10), that hit would have been celebrated, no question about it.

Clearly dirty and premeditated based on him running 15-20 yards to line him up and his reaction after the hit. He knew what he was doing and knew it would be a penalty. Dirty hit by a dirty player. IAC should look into it.

If you’re the poster who suggested a defender should “play the ball” in that situation, and that defenders shouldn’t run through offensive players, you need to get off the keyboard. I’m sure you’re embarrassing Landon folks, many of whom know good lacrosse. You sound like the STA music program person.

You don’t stop the ball (threat) with a stick. You meet force with force.

Meet force with force? What a clown.

Guess that’s your soon. You taught him well. Hope someone’s lines him up this season.

You don’t know the game. Not my son. Hope you teach your son to stop the ball using his stick.

fast forward to 1:12:15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTjtgP2JlEM

Page 58 and 59 covers this type of play. Unnecessary roughness and illegal body check.

Landon did not score on the man up and Bullis scored the next 2 goals before Landon closed them out in the 4th with 3 straight.

I was at that game with no kid involved. I have watched lacrosse for over 25 years with multiple kids who have played at the top of D1 lacrosse. No way that call gets made 10 years ago. The player was hit in the front and yes it looked violent but it was legal in my opinion. Observations: boys’ game has become less physical over the last 10 years and girls’ game has actually became way more physical.

Agree.

The game has become soft.

If you played lacrosse 20 years ago, the hits were exactly what you saw in the video above.

Big one tonight down on Eye Street between visiting Bullis and Gonzaga.

Mad Lax Media will be streaming.

Should be a great test for both programs.

And I was referring to the Landon hit on the Bullis player who was running full speed down hill on the goal. How do you stop that with a stick check?

That was not a dirty hit. As the athletes get bigger and stronger many of them coming over from football, those kind of contacts are going to happen. See Culver. Honestly it’s part of the game and it’s part of what makes it exciting like football but to a much lesser degree. If you’re going to call that a dirty hit, you may as well just take off the helmets and play like the girls do.

Landon supporter here, it wasn’t a dirty hit.

Both teams played hard last Friday as it was a great game to watch

Move on.

I hated learning this morning that the team on Military Rd. won another DMV game.

As a former parent of a player in the DMV can one of you current parents that play them unfu$$ your team and win one?

Enough is enough.
