Not quite on the hit. Excessive contact or flagrant hit to the head, take your pick. Lucky it was only 2 and not 3 plus the ejection. The Bullis player did stop the fast break but they gave up the goal on man up. Take out checks are long gone for good reason |
This is likely the best Landon team we have seen in years.
Only a fool would base their entire assessment of just how strong a team is by looking at one game (st Paul’s game) in week one. I’m far from a Landon fan, but the Bears are deep across the board this year. They are putting up big numbers on offense and their goalie play has been terrific. Their depth simply wore Bullis down last week and they have multiple weapons on offense. They will be the favorite against GP on Friday afternoon. |
Hey softie how else do you stop someone running downhill at your goal? The defender stopped a shooter in the process of shooting. Nothing more nothing less.
I’d be interested in your answer. |
Bullis got their butts handed to them in a game that Landon didn’t even play that well in. It wasnt even close. Take your two min unreleasable back and nothing changes. At this point it’s the Bears coaches season to blow. Otherwise, they are clearly the best team in the dmv this spring for whatever that’s worth. And by the way, other than McDonough, the MIAA is on a very down season too. |
Someone got mad. Both teams dominated for stretches. Disagree with your opinion from top to bottom and that’s fine. Teams will most likely play again |
You don't start your defensive run from 15 yards away, lower your shoulder and drive through the offensive player like you are playing football without any intention of playing the ball. 2 minutes non-releasable and Landon scores man up. 13-8. Those days are long gone. Take a look at the clip and let me know https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxNGaj3FjbfkjsJ_EYjlO9fC6pd-OPLgQL?feature=shared |
Dirty Hit |
The hit was clean.
Landon didn’t even score on the man up as they turned the ball away and Bullis ran out the penalty time |
Should have been ejected. I'd love to hear Bellistri offer an apology after stomping on the field screaming at the refs for a no call. |
You didn’t answer my question. How do you stop someone running full speed downhill at your goal winding up to shoot? A stick check? It was shoulder to shoulder/chest. Lacrosse is full contact. You shouldn’t “drive through the offensive player” haha okay. I hope you don’t coach. |
You don't dopey. That's why it's a penalty. 13-8. Sit down, shut up and go lose to GZ. |
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Just stop. “Without any intention of playing the ball” The ball was in the shooter’s stick. He was in the windup of his shot and was 8 yards from the goal. Guess the PC answer is throw a stick check and give up a goal. Maybe don’t open up your chest to shoot 8 yards from the goal… |
clip deleted, is it anywhere else to watch |
I wouldn’t ask that poster for anything electronic. He might send you some woke stuff. Apparently you are supposed to play the ball within 10 yds of the goal and you don’t want players to drive through offensive players. All big and bad. Very BAD. |
Neutral observer….it wasn’t a dirty hit ie not late, cheap or to the direct hit to the head. It was a hard hit. And those hits are called now. In todays sports, any hard hit is called a penalty. Doesn’t matter where the initial contact is made. It sucks, but it is where we are. 15 years ago (maybe even 10), that hit would have been celebrated, no question about it. |
