Please read.

Some interesting background (had already read) but totally glosses over how CRT is now being packaged to cram down the throats of students. It’s ultimately a reductive and harmful approach to a complex subject that ends up shaming white and Asian kids and “empowers” others to go around yelling “check your privilege” and “colonizer” at other kids whenever they have a difference of opinion.

It's just going to cause more division. Fortunately, most students will just sleep with their eyes closed through this crap.

The high school kkds might, but the K-7th graders won't and will be very indoctrinated very quickly.

Nah they learn to tune out boring diversity drivel even in grade school.

Are we comparing Asians to black Americans and wondering why they’re “more successful” despite migrating to the US with accents? Or am I missing something? Were Asian immigrants being compared to Hispanic ones, perhaps? Because I can’t imagine anyone pretending slavery, Jim Crow, redlining and other racist and microaggressions haven’t been heaped upon black Americans for centuries as it has black Americans.

Furthermore are posters really saying they oppose CRT unless it teaches their white children that they are privileged? Do you not see how you are part of the problem? Society is clearly over white feelings of superiority that lead to the oppression and mistreatment of others. It’s “white privilege” that causes Amy Coopers to feel comfortable calling the police claiming a black man is attacking her when that is not true. It’s what made the white woman feel she could police black people bbq’ing in the park. No! White children do not need to be indoctrinated with more feelings of white supremacy. Instead EVERYONE needs to be aware of the racist systems set in place to disadvantage people of color so they can be the ones to dismantle that system.

White tears and opposition over CRT exemplify exactly why it’s needed. Whites are clearly throwing tantrums at the thought of equity and equality. You don’t want the system of racism to be dismantled.

Explain to me then what privilege it is that prompts grown-ass black men to beat up frail old Asians, in broad daylight and (in some cases) the black onlookers not caring to intervene or even call the cops? How many Asians will now go out of their way to hire a black man? How do you plan on fixing that?

If you wanted to push this narrative that black people hate and attack Asians you should’ve responded to a different statement to do so. Your response has NOTHING to do with the bolded.

Furthermore it’s crazy to act as if White people don’t attack Asians. Was it not a WHITE MAN who beat an elderly Asian WOMAN in San Francisco who happened to get a worse beating from her cane?

And should I post videos of Asians assaulting black people? An Asian man was recently recorded lying to police on the phone about a black man having a gun-only to be berated by one of the officers for telling such a lie.

Finally how many Asians are hiring black men? Every Asian establishment I see is staffed to the brim with Asians.

Now, do you have anything to say that is RELEVANT to the post you responded to?

Well, it sounds like they're going to get it. Most teachers will go through the motions, even more students won't meaningfully participate, they'll parrot back what they're expected to say when called upon...then they'll all collectively move on to a useful subject next.

And this is exactly why it’s needed.

At least the schools are trying to make this country a better, more fair, less hate society to live in as it’s clear many parents don’t see doing that a priority.

Hmm. Short but hateful post that gives away the CRT agenda isn’t about equal opportunity or respecting each individual, but instead race and class-based retribution. Of course people will fight this. Always have, always will.

Yes, white people will fight acknowledging the atrocities of centuries of oppression.

DP. Uh, no. This has all been acknowledged and taught in schools. What we’re not going to do is flagellate ourselves or our kids over sins that none of us committed. Time to move on.

If these are sins “none of us committed”, why does racism-both systemic and societal-still exist? You DO and ARE committing it! Otherwise we wouldn’t see Amy Coopers and so many other Karen’s caught on tape spewing racist rhetoric, calling the police because kids are selling water, telling their neighbors “Youre the wrong color” before doing so, or following black people to their apartments to prove they live there.

You’re lack of self-awareness is exactly why we need to take an honest look at the racist that plays out in America every single day in PRESENT TIMES.

Your post is all over the place. You seem to be in favor of CRT, yet against teaching children that white people are privileged. CRT teaches just that.

It’s not all over the place at all. The response was about parents being okay with CRT teaching their white kids that they are privileged-but having a problem with it teaching anything or everything else.

Your Internet shouting (always resorting to all caps) is exactly why this crass, over-the-top CRT indoctrination is going to fall on deaf ears. People don’t like to be yelled at and these lessons will have the subtlety of a sledgehammer. And most see that FCPS is committing to this nonsense because it’s easier than doing the hard work of raising the academic performance of under-achieving kids. Much easier to bring down the top by telling them they haven’t earned any praise because whatever they’ve achieved is somehow due to their privilege, not their individual effort and diligence.

If you think this type of pandering and abuse will earn “oppressed” groups any more respect, think again.

Sorry, no. The racist behaviors you describe are the exception, not the rule. Of course there will always be aholes like that. It’s still no reason to indoctrinate our children in the lunacy that is CRT. Rational, normal people raise rational, normal children who treat others the way they want to be treated. The exceptions to that do not mean you get to lecture everyone from on high about how “intrinsically racist” all white people are. Nope.

We have one more year of school here and then we’re right behind you. Which makes me sad as I grew up here and love Virginia. Perhaps we’ll stay if Youngkin wins in November.

All this will do is cause division and resentment, on all sides. Great job, FCPS. Way to pit kids against one another instead of celebrating our common humanity.

You can argue they’re the exception because you’re not on the receiving end. I’ve seen more than enough videos and heard/read more than enough personal narratives to know that this type of behavior is the rule. That’s the reason CRT is now a thing.

And this is why CRT is needed.

Despite hundreds of years of black Americans screaming about their experiences from the mountaintops to documented racism and having it now recorded for the world to see, too many inhumanely unempathetic white people continue to insist “NOT TRUE! IT DOESN’T HAPPEN!” while sticking their fingers in their ears singing “La la la I can’t hear you.”
