I agree that’s probably the case, although it doesn’t make it okay in either scenario.

Too bad that’s not the conversation about race and society that was focused on for this incident.

We probably WOULD be having a conversation about gun violence, if not for the unsubstantiated race slur part. Or maybe not...we probably wouldn't have even heard about the incident, if race hate had not been alleged.

Tell me this...if the slur is unsubstantiated, why is your first inclination to believe it was not said?

DP: Because it is the report of people who were there vs someone who wasn’t.

As a former teacher, I know for a fact all adults can not hear every thing said by students, especially at the chaos of lunch time.

Sure, even the 6 year olds don’t hear with accuracy everything that is said.

I am VERY supportive of POC going through the world fighting the smallest and teh largest injustice. I am very open to listening and understanding that things I would have brushed aside as not a big deal are indeed a big deal and need to be addressed.

But when there is a 6 year old involved, I feel much more torn. I read his tweets, and it mentions his son's grade but not that it was a classmate. And there is no mention - even after thw facts came out - that the threat was against two kids, one white.

I am not alt-right and he is a Dr. an I support his cause, but I am pretty taken aback by his lack of perspective in this case. It is a 6 year old. He is a very smart man. I hope he has the reflective capacities to be understand this.

He decided to klieg a national spotlight on an incident involving several 6-year olds that he didn't even know for sure involved a race comment. At a school packed full of rich white liberals in super-liberal Washington DC of all places. When his grandchild had been observing all the attention his older sibling received for an incident involving similar alleged facts as this one.

His reaction is the definition of hysterical.
