I agree. But I think the military has enough good people who will prevent that from happening.

I want Trump gone. But a situation where we have a president in office, but his senior officials are doing their best to keep him from having any effect, doesn't sound the tiniest bit safe to me. If they think he is incompetent they need to do everything they can to get him removed from office.

I think it’s someone in the foreign policy establishment, given the emphasis on FP in the piece. My money is on Coats, though that whole lodestar thing is a compelling piece of evidence pointing to Pence.

Other reasons it might be Coats:

- We know he’s been pissed lately. He found out Trump might want another Putin meeting on TV from a reporter.

- The mentions of McCain suggest someone with deep respect for him. Though that describes a lot of people, it definitely fits with Coats’ military background.

The NYTimes and this whole stupid town as just been played. This is Psy-Ops at its best. Three months after his election I had intel friends telling me "We're gonna get him. Money laundering." NOTHING. Six months later they were telling me, "We're gonna get him. Collusion". NOTHING. Now they are trying to disrupt the Trump inner circle by pretending it is penetrated. I call BS.
