You are "terrified"? Good grief, take a Xanax.

I am actively terrified of this as well.

Me three.

Total BS.

Agreed. But just to be sure - I'd start investigating anyone who ever worked for Sessions, McCain or any of the Bushes. I'd also look at all the never-Trumper GOP consultants and their former staffers to see who is now working for Trump. If this person truly fancies himself as some savior, it's because he/she has been put up to it by someone with the power to get them in there and someone to protect them.

I agree. But I think the military has enough good people who will prevent that from happening.

So... a coup?

How would the military know who to take orders from?

This concerns me. It reminds me of this West Wing episode.

I want Trump gone. But a situation where we have a president in office, but his senior officials are doing their best to keep him from having any effect, doesn't sound the tiniest bit safe to me. If they think he is incompetent they need to do everything they can to get him removed from office.

The Constitutional crisis exists right now.

Not Mattis.

IC, Haley. Maybe Kelly.

Possibly Sessions. Or even Bolton. mnuchin

It’s someone who worked with-/or admired McCain and the bipartisan world he represented. Most likely a Washington person. And who deals with US foreign policy. It is not Pompeo.

Times wd not have bothered unless cabinet level. Don’t think Chao. No incentive to make life worse for husband.

I think it’s someone in the foreign policy establishment, given the emphasis on FP in the piece. My money is on Coats, though that whole lodestar thing is a compelling piece of evidence pointing to Pence.
Anonymous
Other reasons it might be Coats:

- We know he’s been pissed lately. He found out Trump might want another Putin meeting on TV from a reporter.

- The mentions of McCain suggest someone with deep respect for him. Though that describes a lot of people, it definitely fits with Coats’ military background.

The NYTimes and this whole stupid town as just been played. This is Psy-Ops at its best. Three months after his election I had intel friends telling me "We're gonna get him. Money laundering." NOTHING. Six months later they were telling me, "We're gonna get him. Collusion". NOTHING. Now they are trying to disrupt the Trump inner circle by pretending it is penetrated. I call BS. I know too many of the intel people and their capabilities. Never believed in a deep state before but I sure as hell do now.

it is not this hillbilly cow.

I just love liberals. If the woman is a conservative, their appearance is fair game. But hands off if she's a liberal!

Remind us again who was making comments about Meghan McCain's weight? Hint, it wasn't liberals.

Well Bob Woodward must be pissed. Guess who won't be talking about this book tomorrow?

I still think it's KellyAnne. And I also agree with this OpEd that the anonymous complainers aren't heroes.

Just Shut Up and Quit
Nobody elected the Anonymous Heroes executing a de facto coup against Donald Trump's presidency*.

May I just say, for the record, to hell with this person, whoever it is.

Over the past two days, I've become increasingly annoyed by the careerist bleatings of anonymous sources who would like you to know that, by enabling El Caudillo Del Mar-a-Lago and his long, slow slide into howling madness, they are really keeping him from doing some real damage to the country, and shouldn't we all be grateful for their noble, selfless work. From The New York Times:

To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous. But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic. That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office.
Please, Heritage Foundation, give us our old jobs back when this all blows over.

It was clearly coordinated with his book release and midterm election cycle. Media just wants eyeballs and $.

The twitterverse thinks it's Pence because he's the only one who has regularly used the uncommon word "lodestar." So that's possible. But I think it could be KellyAnne framing Pence because she's evil that way.

'Lodestar just seems like an unusual word to use in general, not to mention in an op-ed that's going to be widely read," he wrote. "It has this whiff of sanctimony. So I search for John Kelly and James Mattis ever having used the word 'lodestar'. Nothing."

Then he searched Pence and found a treasure trove of speeches of him using the word.

And wouldn't this be the first thing an effective PsyOps person would plant? An unusual word that lo and behold can - gasp - be tied to the VP.

BS. This is PsyOps. Get your heads out of your liberal a$$es and catch the clue bus. You've ALL been played.
