Senior Trump Official Pens Op-Ed in the NYT calling President Amoral

Anonymous
Trump has already vowed to find the "rats" who talked to Woodward. This part of the Op-Ed will make him go over the hill:

The bigger concern is not what Mr. Trump has done to the presidency but rather what we as a nation have allowed him to do to us. We have sunk low with him and allowed our discourse to be stripped of civility.

Senator John McCain put it best in his farewell letter. All Americans should heed his words and break free of the tribalism trap, with the high aim of uniting through our shared values and love of this great nation.

We may no longer have Senator McCain. But we will always have his example — a lodestar for restoring honor to public life and our national dialogue. Mr. Trump may fear such honorable men, but we should revere them.

Maybe John Kelly?

Ask the New York Times. They have a Q&A available on their site about the editorial.

nah. too subversive. maybe Raj Shah? (although he's not particularly senior). After the way Trump dumped on him to Bob Woodward (on tape), he must have been mad.

But I bet we'll find out within a couple days. Seems like things don't stay secret for long.

640 depending on how you define it. There are over 1200 confirmed positions.

I am going with Mnuchin.

What this person describes, the "Two-track Presidency", is a little dangerous, no?

I think it is a circle of about 50 people. 15 cabinet members, 10-15 senior trump staff, 10-15 senior pence staff. That is a high estimate. If it is TRULY a 'senior official' I think its more like 25. 15 cabinet, Sarah, Pence, Kellyanne and a handful of other WH staffers.

So you didn’t believe the Daily Caller’s reporting that China hacked Hillary’s emails, right?

What constitutes a "senior official"?

The honorable thing to do would be for this individual to resign and go public with his/her concerns. If it really is a senior person, it could make a difference. If it is someone like an Omarosa, it would make no difference.

But whoever it is must realize he/she will not have a future in the Republican party thereafter. For this reason, I doubt it is Pence or Haley.

Pence may be the POTUS by this time next year. The GOP rats will scurry in line just as they eventually did for Trump.

Trump will never leave short of being removed from office ...... not a chance.

Even more significantly, the Republican base is totally with him and anyone who moves against him is finished. Now if the base turns against him then it may be a different story.

Eff this person who says it is serious enough to discuss the 25th amendment, but hey, we like tax cuts and regulation, so never mind, I’ll just go anonymous and send the Pres over the edge. This person will eventually be outed.

But why would they continue to back him when Pence would give them more of the same without the mentally crazy?
