Kaya Leaving; John Davis in as interim

Jean Claude Brizard was run out of Rochester, New York schools when he was given a no-confidence" vote by the teachers. He also angered the community by his lack of transparency when he closed schools without giving prior notification to parents, the community, or the administrators. He had a similar record in the Chicago Public School System where his "top-down" leadership style resulted in a widespread teachers' strike.

Why would anyone listen to anything Mathews says? He has been wrong so many times in the past. In this case, he compares DC to other urban districts without controlling for variables, such as the recent infusion of high SES families into the District schools. Is this the case with the other districts? Because DC is a political minefield, why would anyone want to continue this culture by hiring an insider Superintendent/Chancellor who might have planted some of those mines?

So he can keep his job, wasn't he on Rhee's payroll at one point now he only posts about once a year. He's a sorry sock of a reporter. Major newspaper and no journalist appointed to report on education, what a joke.

Jean Claude Brizard, former CEO of Chicago Public Schools, has been living in DC for 3+ years. There are lots of people with impressive resumes like him who come to work at the federal level, or at think tanks.

Woohoo - I win! You can all take me out to lunch after tomorrow.

Yes John Davis has a new job.

Not sure who the 'they' is you're referring to. http://www.baltimorecityschools.org/cms/lib/MD01001351/Centricity/Domain/8049/07252017_PressRelease_HumanCapital_Schools_Chief_announcements.pdf
