Disagree, I like it. It has only been one day. Robbie has high standards, so he can take a little time.

In real life, could Landon even work in this environment again? Seems very risky. I would think he would lose his medical license, at least for a few years.

When Carter came back to the ER after his rehab, he was welcomed with open arms. His friends stood by him. I don’t think it’s right that he treats Langdon like this in what is supposed to be a professional environment.

I think the actor playing Santos is overdoing it. She’s not the least bit likable or interesting

I think she's arrogant and arrogance isn't a great trait in residents. She bothers me too.

+1 As an addict in recovery, Langdon ought to expect that not everyone he screwed over is going to forgive him automagically. Nobody owes you a second chance to betray their trust.

As the person in charge, it's perfectly appropriate for Robbie to be keeping him at arm's length, watching him closely, and treating him like "low man" because he lost any status he had when he broke the rules. Expecting anyone to just take him back in with open arms is naive af. He's getting a second chance, which is probably more than he deserves. He shouldn't expect warm fuzzies and coddling on top. He needs to be willing to earn back the trust and respect he previously threw away with his poor decisions.

Older show, outdated take, and I'm not sure the circumstances were the same (been a long time since I saw the OG show). He probably got too many chances. That's not "professional", it's enabling. Wildly inappropriate in such a high-stakes setting.

Well, I think she’s doing great. She’s annoying in just the right way. And she’s no where near as annoying as Olgilvie.

I think she’s overacting. And Olgilve is a bit player with little screen time. You are forced to watch Santos griping about her charts or other attitudinal problems throughout the show. I may just stop watching.

Sorry folks but this season is a flop so far.

Agree. Also this situation is NOT like Carter on ER. He stole meds from patients, and should have gone to jail for that. In addition to losing his medical license for good. Robby covered for his crime, and he is having a hard time stomaching that. Understandable!

This season is a bore. Absolutely nothing is happening. It’s like watching paint dry.

I agree, it's not *quite* as good. Still one of the best things on TV.

I've been waiting for a mention of the son. I think they had a throw-away mention that Kiara was not working that day. Maybe? I guess since the show depicts a single day, it makes sense that you wouldn't necessarily see all the same characters.

And now there is hot nurse Jesse.

Hot Jesse was there last season! Also cool is that he is actually a nurse!

It actually is realistic, or at least they are portraying in a realistic way by talking about how he is in a program specifically designed to help doctors with substance abuse issues recover and re-enter the field. Addiction is a major issue in medicine and too common to simply have a no tolerance approach. There is also a recognition that the hours and stress of the job likely contributes to addiction, which leads to a desire to offer second chances.

The recovery programs are strict though -- testing, therapy, participation in a 12step program, and everything must be documented and you have to meet deadlines and be accountable. Like being on probation. There are recovery meetings specifically for healthcare professionals.

Now they seem to be implying that maybe Langdon wouldn't be eligible for this program if they knew he'd stolen from patients. I'm not sure.

One thing they didn't touch on last season or this season though is that it's pretty common for healthcare providers to have to do random drug testing specifically because of this risk -- these people have a lot of access to narcotics. But maybe that's not everyone? My sister is a nurse anesthetist and she's always had random drug testing at every hospital she's worked at. It doesn't prevent addiction issues but a program like that would have made it harder or possibly deterred someone like Langdon from stealing drugs or doing them while at work, because of the risk of getting called up to restart any time.

Then don't watch. Go back to TikTok.

It's more like watching that football channel that jumps between games to all of the scoring plays, tons of action but nothing holding it all together.

So one of you is complaining that not enough is happening and another one is complaining that too much is happening?

They just can't win with some people.
