How many donuts for people coming over the day after Thanksgiving?

My family would definitely get breakfast first - either at our hotel if offered or we’d stop at a quick diner or Starbucks/Dunkin for breakfast sandwiches. I’m not anti-donut, but I wouldn’t want to arrive hangry to the lunch destination and I’d definitely be hangry if I hadn’t had any protein all day.

It doesn't seem like they are staying elsewhere. It seems like they are staying with OP.

It’s probably hidden in all of the replies. OP here, no, they are staying at a hotel. This is more of a caravan to destination 3 where everyone is meeting up for lunch.

I think I am shocked at the number of non-donut eaters. For decades my kids schools have done donuts with the parents activities and my most recent two jobs as well. 😆 I work in Northern Virginia FWIW. I figured they were the safest option of what people like when it comes to a group.

Appreciate all the responses! This may be my largest DCUM post ever and I’m learning a lot about breakfast habits. 😆

OP thank you for clarifying that these people are NOT houseguests. In that case, I would expect they’d eat breakfast before going to your house. My kids would definitely grab a donut as a snack anyway (heck, it’s the holidays; I might, too!) but I wouldn’t expect anyone to want a full breakfast’s worth of calories.

Don’t forget to pair the donuts with kombucha and dandelion root tea.

That changes my answer. I'd just give people a heads up that you aren't serving breakfast, but you'll pick up some donuts for the road.

None of us are non-donut eaters. I'd just want to combine the donut with something more satiating.

Unbelievable. This thread. 20 pages on buying donuts for breakfast. Unfathomable.

You realize that from now on any time anyone on this site asks what to serve we are all going to chime in with “How about half a donut?”

I think the surprising thing is all the people saying "it's one day" as if donuts aren't offered multiple times throughout the year. But most adults I know skip them. It's never just one day when it comes to celebratory food.

Pro tip: Cut all the donuts in half - that will stretch what you have.
No one pre-cuts a cream-filled or jelly-filled donut so it is lying there smashed down and oozed out.

And the hard boiled eggs. Good lord. Stop the suggestions of hard boiled eggs all the time.

Make 30 muffins in a blink with less sugar. 10 banana, 10 apple, 10 chocolate. You can freeze some for later enjoyment.

This but I would not be eating a crazy donut before a two hour car ride. Can you just get a dozen and a dozen bagels?

Why can’t someone eat a “crazy donut” before a car trip? Lol. Some of you are so odd about food.

Get the literature about glucose effects on the brain. Your body will be thankful for that.
