The bulk of those foreign travelers are Canadians, so you don't notice that they are foreign. |
People worldwide know it is foul. I have friends from the UK who were planning to come for a 50th bday visit for the last few years. Now they’re scared to, and won’t come til Trump is gone and/or sanity is restored to America. |
| That's their choice. I'm fine with it. |
No one cares what you, Internet rando, think of people’s choices to travel. Americans who own businesses related to tourism, travel, food services and a dozen other tourism adjacent fields do care because their livelihood is being damaged by Trump crazy policies. |
The US is expected to lose $12B in tourism revenue in 2025. |
That’s because your livelihood is not in the hospitality and tourism industry. |
Even for those outside the tourism industry, for the small towns along the Canadian border, tourism tax dollars fund police, fire services, schools and libraries. |
| The lack of foreigners is driving up the stock market |
Nope. People who have to depend on 401k upon retirement is the cause of the expanding stock market. All of that bi-weekly, robotic, automatic, DCA into index funds keep pumping the stock market. |
Awesome that employment is so good it pumps excess paycheck cash into stocks Thanks Trump!! |
| Now that the foreigners have to pay for their own military protection and can't out tariff rip off the the USA they don't have money left to travel. Boo Hoo. |
lol. Big adult thoughts. |
Huh? Employment is down. But Trump fired the person in charge of the employment data, because he couldn't face that he was running the economy into the ground, so I guess you will be correct in a few months when the new Trump flunky doctors the data. |
You mean now that Americans are paying all of the international Trump Taxes? |

Pensacola tourism sees summer slump as fewer international travelers coming to Florida

This year, the travel numbers statewide were on the decline, specifically with international travelers. There were 18,000 fewer tourists in Pensacola this June compared to the same time last year. If you've noticed more open space on the beach and less traffic around town you would be spot on. |
