Only club around here that already has MLSN and GA together is everyones favorite SYC. Does this make them more stable and prepared for the long haul? This alliance now makes GA/MLSN = ECNL…possibly better if it becomes the only path to the pros.. you see there…

SYC is the only local team that has MSL Next and GA. What does that really mean? While on the surface it sounds great for SYC marketing department. If we look further into it, could this be a sign of trouble. SYC girls have always been weak while the boys have been stronger.
No other team in the area cares for GA.
SYC is currently looking to see how much to increase their league fee since they are so 'elite' and is the 'only' only who has MSL Next and GA.

No, the main path to NWSL has been college. ECNL is the main path to college. There is no special link between ECNL and NWSL. I think that's the open space here to provide an alternative path to NWSL that isn't just college.

I’m sorry but this is SYCs 1st year in GA.
The kids that were part of the McLean/SYC ECNL probably stayed in ECNL.

Focus is on 2012 and the years to come.

There are only so many truly MLS Academy teams out there, but there are many pay to play MSL Next teams.

On the womens side, where are they true aligned academy programs and I saw NCFC get cited. There are pathways but are there programs that allow signings and players to work with a senior team and play with the regular youth club team?

You are starting to see this on the USL men's side with USL-A teams and players working with the senior USL squad.

There's a ton of movement now in the soccer landscape - the traditional college route is going to look very different with roster limits, the financial settlement, NIL, etc.

Will be interesting to see where this all goes.

Everything will consolidate under MLS. Not tomorrow but within a decade, tops. That said, there will always be a need for sturdy leagues where kids are just playing for the love of the game and camaraderie. NCSL is one, ECNL will be another.

Clubs would lose more giving up MLS Next for ECNL than Giving up ECNL for GA.

GA still puts plenty of kids in college. And if these ECNL clubs say they are much better than GA clubs, then they should have no problem getting into champions cup and playoffs.
