Clubs would take a hit if they choose to pull boys out of MLS Next to keep ECNL. If a club is forced to go GA from ECNL, that club won’t suffer as much. |
Boys teams are more valuable to clubs than girls because there are more players and teams = more club revenue. Which one do you think a club would choose? |
Any ECNL club that may choose to keep mls next and is forced to go GA. Since ECNL is so much better than GA, ECNL clubs would have no issue being top of the league in ga |
Easily MLSN |
I just don't get it. Of course we are all fans of our kids, and many fans of their teams even though they switch every couple of years. But fans of a 4-5 year old league competing with another 7-8 year old league? Makes no sense. The clubs don't give a crap about leagues and you shouldn't either. Just get your kid to the best team that fits them. |
GA is 4-5 years old? What is the 7-8 year old league? |
| In GA and happy. The ECNL event did appear to have more College Coaches, but overall was a lesser event by location. Perhaps bad luck or planning. Maybe ECNL is just exagerating the number of coaches too. Who knows. |
So following to the logical conclusion, some girls ENCL teams will move to GA, making GA stronger. Sounds like a good move for GA, no? |
|
ECNL girls account for the most amount of D1 year one players entering the transfer portal.
Also more ECNL girls than any other league choose to quit playing in college. |
Where’d you find those stats? RevPlex? |
100% true
|
Proportionally? Or real numbers? ECNL makes up 2/3+ of college players. Of course the numbers are going to be higher. Liars figure, figures dont lie |
100% true |
| Lots of conjecture, here, delving in the uglier side of youth soccer. What's clear is both sides accuse the other of forcing/pressuring to join and yet there are clubs currently with teams in the rival leagues -- typically ones in highly competitive markets. So, on some level this is just a lot of talk.... And yet, in less competitive markets, I saw our ECNL team split off from the boys so they could go with MLSNext when that was formed (which says a lot of about the pressure that exists/is likely coming regardless). |
True, and its also true that IN THIS REGION, GA is not great. SYC has some promising young players. They also love astroturfing this forum. There are parts of the country that GA by all measures can go head to head with ECNL girls. This is not one of those parts. |
