25% tariff effective January 20th

I recall during covid how it was really hard to get parts for cars, laundry machines, etc...as most were imported, and prices for some of those items went up due to supply chain issues.

Looks like prices for those items will go up again.

Yes. MAGA loved the Covid pandemic and voted for Trump so that we could all experience the supply chain shortages again.

They forgot how they had to wipe their butts with leaves.

Or…maybe not?
Remember these are the folks who tracked their feces around the Capitol.

I was trying to explain tariffs to my boomer neighbor this past weekend. He still doesn't get it. HOW can people not get it?

He threatened a lot of tariffs during his first term too, and ended up not doing most of them. What he did do was fairly limited and just hurt some specific industries like soybean farmers. Markets seem to be assuming it’s just more bluster. He has the attention span of a gnat so there’s a very high chance he will have completely forgotten about this threat in two months. I guess we’ll find out soon enough. So fun having the economy subject to the whims of a delusional idiot.

We live in an idiocracy now, and it will get much, much worse.

Anonymous wrote:What’s super awesome about the tariff plan is that companies will be able to apply for an exemption. This means that companies that publically support Trump, both financially and in the press, will get these exemptions.

So, basically open bribery.

Really making America Great Again!

That’s not going to happen with foreign companies. I say this as someone who despises the felon. The Chinese won’t do this because to pledge loyalty to him over Xi Jingping is definitely not happening. You’d also have to have a lot of people lying including US lawyers, commerce workers, economic advisors, etc.

Besides the felon is a total wimp. He was tough talking during his campaign saying Chinese tariffs would be 60-100% and now he’s saying a measly 10%. Hopefully he’s as ineffective as last time, more or less. Though he walked away richer.

That’s true. There were some neighborhoods where most of the trees were devoid of leaves.

Those were strange times of unexplained rashes in embarrassing places.

Still time to fix yourself and help our society. Will be tough for someone like you but one less idiot is always a good thing.

Exactly. Everyone has seen the Trump show.

I realize there are a million more important problems this clown car of administration is going to cause and I’m worried about all of them (mostly losing my health insurance and disability discrimination against my loved ones.) But I’m not going to lie and say that the fact that I’ll never get to replace the countertops in my kitchen isn’t something I think about every morning when I get my coffee. So much for a kitchen remodel.
All my house reno projects just went bust.
