It's not Parkinson's - it's Alzheimer's.

You can't say it's either and need to turn in your armchair medical credentials.

I did not see a person who portrays the optics of a US President. I wanted to but I just did not see it.

NP. Same here.

My father had Alzheimers. When he was first diagnosed, he was far more coherent than President Biden has been in these recent interviews. For several years, until he had a major medical episode, he could carry on a reasonable conversation without losing his train of thought or forgetting a key word nearly as frequently as Biden did in the debate or even in tonight's interview (which was better than the debate.)

He needs to answer unscripted questions at a press conference or town hall after 8pm, and more than once. Reading a teleprompter at a rally proves nothing.

His sense of humor is coming through.

And his consideration of others.

Huh? Joe is a lot of things but considerate of others he has never been. He is very self centered, even for a politician.

LOL who even are you? Did you just emerge from decades in a bunker and just receive a few minutes of Biden video? Have you not seen Trump? Next to that raging narcissistic socioopath that is Donald Trump, Joe is practically Mother Theresa.

Trump and Biden can both be rotten eggs at the same time.

But re Joe: ever see the Washingtonian piece on him from 1974? Total freak. I didn’t call him an “egomaniacal autocrat,” his former staffer did. I also didn’t call him a jackass, Senator Kennedy called him that to my face.

Sorry. We have two pretty bad people we have to select from.

Will we ever know? George asked him at least three times if he would submit to a neurological test, and he demurred each time. "Every day is a neurological test."

Well Trump isn’t doing one either.

Pretty sure Biden can easily pass the "Person Man Woman Camera TV" test that Trump touted. If Biden does that one, will Trump and his proxies STFU already?

It means the coming week will be complete chaos. Intense maneuvering and palace intrigue is afoot. An historic party schism is threatening to erupt.

I smell panic.

The coming weeks will be the subject of one hundred books.

Agreed. He did better than I expected, but was still pretty bad. I imagine it’s good enough to give ammunition to the folks wanting to keep him in, but not good enough to bring back viewers who were distressed by his debate performance.

Another agreement. He did well enough to stave off the sharpening knives headed in his direction. For now. No one is impressed or reassured by the interview except the most delusional partisans but he did just well enough to perpetuate the awkward state of affairs. And it's not going to lead to victory in November either. The interview wasn't live, wasn't prime time, was filmed during his working daylight hours. This isn't letting Biden loose at a press conference or a college auditorium taking unscripted questions from the audience the way presidential candidates typically do. Nor does it answer any of the questions everyone is asking. What is he really like behind doors?

The Democrats don't have much time to save 2024. Each day that passes the harder it becomes. But the election is already starting to turn into an inevitable narrative that everyone will start believing in - one of Joe Biden's cognitive decline hidden from the public as far back as 2020 and enabled by the untrustworthy press and a corrupt Democratic party - a narrative that leads to Trump's election in November.

Huh? So we gotta go back to some rando article from 50 years ago to make the case about Biden's ego? That's some bottom-of-the-barrel desperation bruh.

I agree, but you know what he’ll do? He’ll rely on quips like, “Watch me” when asked for details. He’ll smile and give non-answers.

I honestly think we’re going to lose to that monster Trump in November, and I’m terrified.

And while we are at it, can we get all of the House and Senate cleaned of all above 70 years old? If commercial airline pilots are forced to retire at 65 because of safety concerns, I have the same concerns for our legislators!

This. I can't help but think there is good reason why tonight's "interview" was set and handled in the manner it was. It was staged. It did nothing to reassure me but made me feel as if they are trying to manipulate Biden's situation.

I just don’t believe him. At all.

This was scripted and edited.

The real Biden is the one you got during the debate.

How about a live press conference. It will be the same crappy performance where he is confused all the time..

No. Those were three separate incidents I was citing that covered roughly from 1974 to 2015. Just giving you the full expanse. The well of Joe Biden arrogance and self centeredness runs very deep. You got some more just tonight. God Almighty is alone in those who can convince him to move on.
