But they all post repeatedly on DCUM. In real life, there are very few anti-transit/pro-bike or pro-transit/anti-bike people. Not least because transit and bikes work together. Most people either support transportation policies that make it easier for people to get places without cars (walking, biking, scooters, buses, etc.) or oppose all efforts to do so. |
It suggests to me the myopic (narcissistic) view of those who want two bike lanes on Connecticut Avenue, no compromises. Put the car traffic somewhere else. If it is driven to narrower side streets where more SFH homes are, so much the better! |
Is there something special about people who live in detached houses? Because if not, why would you mention it? Also, people need to bike both ways on Connecticut Avenue, not just one way, and also the bike route needs to be continuous. So I can't even imagine what a "compromise" would consist of. |
Bike lanes on the side streets would never happen due to opposition from people like you who complain bitterly, create websites, start petitions, send 500 pages of nonsense to ANCs etc. etc. etc.. We’ve all see this play out dozens of times. |
Absolutely. The buses have bike carriers are a Godsend. Being able to take a bike on Metro is awesome as well. |
No its not, they are actually adding LHT and RHT lanes at various points. Like Porter and Conn. |
Billions on bike lanes? Goddamn man, you are smoking some serious stuff. Not even close. Billions on roads, sure thing. Double digit millions on bikes period. |
LOL. Okay bud. You do realize that those are all different people who run those accounts? |
2 bike lanes = 1 car lane. There would still be 5 other car lanes. What is the problem, exactly? |
Do you know the slightest thing about the plans at all? It would seem not. Here they are: https://ddot.dc.gov/page/connecticut-avenue-nw-reversible-lane-safety-and-operations-study There is no loss of lanes. In fact, traffic will probably flow better due to the addition of turning lanes. |
If people are so determined to make cars the priority then they need to move OUT of the city. The point of urban living is the convenience of not being totally dependent on a car. End of story |
You keep bringing up facts, but I'd like to stick to discussing my conjecture. |
No, it’s all the same “Ward Boss.”

At least one of them, its not. |
