Calling all romantics: Best show/ movie moments

When Richard Gere sweeps Debra Winger into his arms at the factory in An Officer and a Gentleman. I love the bittersweet look exchanged between Winger and the actress who plays her mother. She knows her mom once dreamed of the same thing, but it didn’t happen for her.

Before Sunset

Is that the scene where he’s fiddling with his wedding ring?

Big bang theory:

When penny is wearing a cat Halloween costume, crying about her boyfriend. Leonard awkwardly asks her to go out with him. This scene is more like real life.

Every moment of A Room with a View.

The scene of Never Been Kisses when Michael Vartan comes into the baseball stadium and joins Drew Barrymore's Josie on the field for the kiss. The Beach Boys' "Don't Worry Baby" was perfect and iconic.

Agree with many of the others I've read here.

I gulped when I watched this scene. This part in the book is even better.

Yes. Ethan Hawke is fiddling with his wedding ring as he realizes that Celine (Julie Delpy) is the love of his life.

The end-scene shows how stuck between their willingness to stay in their dreamworld or the choice to face the realities outside and what lies waiting for him them if and when they choose to board that plane…the next sequel is Before Midnight.

Bridget and Mark Darcy's kiss in the snow.

The English Patient.

The moment where (Ralph Fiennes) is carrying (Kristin Scott Thomas) through the rocky mountain in the dessert after the plane crash. She's wrapped in a sheet.

They haven't been on good terms and he see's a thimble he gave her, dangling on a necklace. He's like. "You're wearing the thimble." and she's like... "You idiot. I always wear it, I've always worn it.... I've always loved you." and the music swells and he starts crying.

No, the choice was between him leaving to board the plane to go back to his wife in the US or staying with Celine in France and starting a relationship with her
