WaPo is still repeating Whittle’s lie that the pandemic was their downfall. So much for reporting.

Public high schools with an IB Program option would be a logical post-Whittle move. Banneker or Eastern in DC. B-CC, Einstein, Richard Montgomery in Montgomery County. W-L (Arlington), Meridian (Falls Church). Marshall (Fairfax County), Laurel (PGPS), etc... Some of these programs have applications like Richard Montgomery, W-L, and Banneker, so prospective families should enquire soon.

I think DCPS, Montgomery, and Fairfax Counties allow out-of-district students to attend for a fee, around 15-20k/year.

The deadline for application high schools in DC was February 1.

No. It’s their parents’ faults. To the bottom of the private waitlists or — gasp — horror — public school.

Private school waitlists aren't actually lists with a top or a bottom. They are wait pools with everyone who could be qualified but weren't initially offered acceptance. Then when there's a spot, the school will choose the person they think will best fit that spot (an introverted female trumpet player, or whatever). If a school wants to put a former Whittle student in that pool, that's not jumping over anyone else.

Actually it is a horror, depending on where you live

I wonder what's going to happen to the building... and all the camps and activities that were renting space.

I predict UDC, GW, or Hopkins will purchase it outright.

Hopkins should start a private high school there.

I think this is really sad. So many families/students over the past 3 years caught in Whittle's web of greed. People just want the best for their children and he took advantage of that.

Any faculty member or family that stayed until had head in sand. Sorry but that is the reality.

I think it was obvious this spring that Whittle was never going to open for the 2022 year. If you look back at the messages saying how this deal was supposed to close in January and all they needed was money to bridge the gap for 2 weeks, well, even if you believed that, you'd have to be a sucker to still believe it months later, with Friday upon Friday, after one of the investors pulled out, after kids left midyear or applied out for next year.

That guy belongs in prison. What an absolute scam artist.

Some of told you at the beginning of the original thread that this wasn't going to end well. Chris Whittle is as much of a scam artist as Donald Trump.

The Post continues to be disappointing in their reporting of this scam.
