Yeah, I'd rather not have to increase taxes to pay for all the liability and settlements.

Just put a warning up, no risk, trust me I’m a lawyer. The idea isn’t that they go on the spikes but that they stay in Bramblefudge to begin with

Ehhh... a motorist should be in compliance with laws and in full control of their vehicle. If they crash as a result of a spike strip that's on them.

If lawsuits and settlements scare you then how about we start suing the city for their failure to enforce the laws?

Not really. But shine on you crazy diamond.

I don't think you know how lawsuits work. But by all means, spend your money on a frivolous lawsuit that will be dismissed immediately. At least the money you spend on attorney's fees will benefit the local economy.

I don’t see how it would. But actually I think it stands a chance. And in some ways losing is good because if it keeps going to the next level we might actually tie the hands of ineffective local gvts to ruin taxpayers lives through inaction. They’d have to — gasp — govern

Governments can and do get sued for negligence and inaction, all the time.

What’s your standing, what’s your claim and what’s your damages?

Here comes a B-rated law school graduate. Snore.
It can be done. What a great idea!

People have successfully sued for noise nuisance in DC; I’m sure we can find a few victims and get a class action going. Bankrupt the city, get the federal gvt to take over and finally clean up

This stuff just teaches the public that traffic laws in DC don’t matter. Why should anyone have to pay traffic tickets if 12 year olds are free to ride three wheelers down Georgia ave?
