America's economy is almost 23 times the size of the Russian economy . Russia's economy is the size of the Italian economy despite the fact that Italy has less than half of its population. So, you attempting to compare America's economy and Russia makes me wonder if you're just trolling—in which case I must say you're bad at it —, or just sincere in your ignorance .

Furthermore, I'm assuming you're typing from the united states of America, a country you seemingly have no intention of leaving anytime soon, right? If you're so confident about the economic prospects one might have in Russia, then may I suggest you board the next available flight and go flourish over there ? My hypocrisy radar is just really flawless and I can't stand people like you . You flee your mafia state and once in America, attempt to dabble in revisionism . Putin could use your mediocre propagandist skills .

Another FSU native here and a 20+year DC area resident. I've always said that if you're an immigrant, you cannot really have an authentic discussion about America with an American. I mean you can, but you are only allowed one point of view: unadulterated awe. Despite the professed love of diversity and "immigrants", the second an immigrant brings up something they love about their home country AND dislike about America, the answer never wavers: go back to where you came from, you ungrateful savage.

To the point: yes, Russia's economy isn't comparable to America, yes. But - and it's a big but - there are many shades of gray between American affluence and Russian poverty level, including a comfortable life in an urban center. I've left to go to graduate school, but if I stayed, I would have had a very nice career, a comfortable apartment, and all the joys of urban living in a country where high culture is pretty cheap, education is free, and high-quality extracurriculars are abound. Add to this that Europe is very close and you can easily travel to interesting destinations in a weekend. Yes, you have to be comfortable with apartment living, but isn't this what we're being shamed for, daily, in the Real Estate sub-forum? When we're reminded that half the world lives in apartments? Well then!

So there you have it. I have a comfortable life in Washington, and I have no doubt that if I stayed, I would have had a comfortable life in Moscow, a different one, but a comfortable one nevertheless. And I have zero Kremlin connections, marvel at that please.

See, herein lies the problem . You have chosen to assume that I'm an American, which in your view could mean someone who is probably white and born here . The ridiculousness of this aside, it shows how far gone you are in your hypocrisy and ignorance . To assume that anyone who dares wonder why you're here if Russia is seemingly a flourishing economy must be asking for unadulterated awe is dishonest at best . But , what if that was the case ? When you go to Rome you act like the Romans, no?

From the onset, some of you here chose to view this thread as an insult towards EE women which to me it isn't. But to pretend that dire economic outlook isn't the primary motivation for this phenomenon is to lose all credibility. There's a similar industry in many french-speaking west African countries that export women to Europe through marriage to older European men. I doubt that if all the arguments used to explain the Mail order industry were used to describe the same phenomenon in wesy Africa, you would've had your panties in a bunch .

Immigration is almost always motivated by one single factor: to have what you don't have at home. Point blank . So,all your talk about life in urban centers in russia—which really means moscow—is just that: white noise .

I'm going to say this again slowly: some women in Russia have no economic prospects. And some have very nice ones. The existence of the former does not preclude the existence of the latter.

I don't want to offend you but I've spent time in Abidjan and Dakar, and Russian poverty is a completely different thing from West African poverty.

I'm Going to say this slowly: The overwhelming majority of women in Russia have zero economic prospects . There are large swaths of Russia where running water and electricity is non existent just like in many parts of Abidjan and Dakar .

Your posts are based on hatred and stereotypes and not by experience or data. It's hard to take you seriously.

Aww ! As I said earlier to you or the other 'russian nationalist'. You can always board the next flight back .

Aww! Not crapping on one’s place of birth does not make one a nationalist or a propagandist. This convo is above your head, and I regret getting involved. As I should have followed B. Shaw’s advice to not wrestle with pigs.

I though mail order brides were mostly thing of the past.

1. Superficial - Want to impress their peers that they can still pull young hot women
2. Emotionally stunted - do not have emotional and intellectual depth needed to grow old together with someone their own age
3. Don’t value family Stability and shared history
4. No shame - Oblivious to fact that others are not impressed by their ability to exploit other countries’ poverty and struggles so they can feel like they emerged triumphant from their mid life crises.

Men want simple. An Eastern European woman wants a way out of a dead end country. She will cook for him, defer to him as long as she can spend his money. I have seen this on a smaller scale with Eastern European Nannie’s who marry American men.

This. They accept prostitution as a way of life and are submissive, pleasing, and materially demanding.

Are you saying women who marry men who have money are prostitutes?

Women who value men mostly for their money are aspiring hookers, yes.

I’m just happy to say that I’m married but completely financially self-sufficient through my own hard work. Hope the more women can achieve the same.

Yes that is great but does not explain old men and mail Order brides …

Oh puhleeze - as long as “simple” means woman is at least twenty years younger and cannot articulate her own needs and thoughts clearly …

Also, if “simple arrangement” is this transactional for the old men then you can bet the young women will keep it simple as well - having affairs, breaking free as soon as they get green cards, and not willing to care for the old men when they become decrepit

This “simple arrangement” probably means estranged or strained relations with Children from earlier marriages, which is the opposite of simple.

LMAO at the idea any woman over the age of two, let alone twenty, can’t articulate her “needs and thoughts”. Geez women never shut up about their banal “thoughts and needs”. The correct translation of “men want a woman who is at least twenty years younger and cannot articulate her own needs and thoughts clearly“ is — men want a woman who is not a shrill, nagging, domineering, eternally dissatisfied harridan (ie, the typical DCUM woman over the age of 30). And gee, why don’t men want that? 🙄

Keep telling yourself that Wallie. Enjoy your inflatable doll GF. They don’t age or talk! So much more simple than engaging with an annoying human person your own age.

Women over the age of two? Apart from being a frightening misogynist, are you a pedo? Sure hope you do not have daughters …

Also you appear to have trouble grasping basic points … the reason young mail order rides from Eastern European poor families are unlikely to be able to communicate their needs would be language barriers.

Not surprised you are unable to for meaningful relationships with women your own age … I am grateful every day for my father, brothers and DH who all are loyal loving husbands to women their own age.

You can keep living in your delusion, but this is real Russia:

Correct. It's called a parasitic relationship by definition. He wants sex, she wants money/stability.

Wouldn't that be a symbiotic relationship?

What’s your argument? You can’t even discuss the topic at hand.

Nobody cares about your copy-pastes from an anti-Russian blog https://prosto-vova.livejournal.com? Your source could not even spell the name of the city correctly.

Also, it’s rude to post in languages other than English on an Ensglish-speaking message board.

Go back to shithole Russia. You're the delusional weirdo who tried to compare the united states to Russia until you ran of fallacious arguments to do so. Stating facts about your place of birth isn't 'crapping' on it , unless of course you're intellectually dishonest which is your case .
