Sounds like surgery screwed him up:

Doctors should get guards too…

He's not leftist AT ALL.

Meh. His reading list and online history is a Rorschach test for people’s own political alignment. People who want him to be left-wing see that, people who want him to be right-wing see that. Much like the Unabomber, his political ideology probably crosses both traditional left- and right-wing positions because at heart he is probably just crazy.

Honestly a very bright male 26-year-old who who disappeared and is into psychedelics? I think schizophrenia is more likely than a specific political persuasion.

It’s amazing that we can’t even fathom an individual reading and identifying with people and ideas from across the political spectrum anymore. That we assume someone who doesn’t automatically buy the party line is insane.

It’s sad that the endgame of his plan was to wait out a national manhunt at a McDs in Altoona.

Good news, Altoona, you are in the news! The bad news...

He’s going to take a plea.

Yeah no way this goes to trial unless he pleads insanity and even then very good chance of a plea.

Crime is on video, footage of him at Starbucks, and they found the gun and the fake idea he used to check into the NYC hostel PLUS a 3-page "manifesto" that will show motive, on him in Altoona.

He's cooked.

Probably, but that also means they don't need to offer him anything. Posters here may have fanciful ideas about jury nullification, but there's no way a jury doesn't convict on first degree murder here.

This is worth fighting the Reddit image hijacker

Yes. It is the world's worst plan to go to a tiny town like that where all the locals know each other. Makes zero sense.

The idiocy of what he did is so dumb it must have been intentional. Why the elaborate plan to get out of NYC and then that's all he had? Seems like he wanted to get caught.

Back injury happened when he was surfing in Hawaii.

Surgery didn’t go great.

Moved to Japan.

His contact with family stopped about a year ago. Recently the family reached out to his friends from high school asking if they had info on him.

So he’s been pretty aloof for awhile. This checks out with his IG tagged photos as there were a lot of posts from family through 2023, none recently.

If you assume everyone who kills is crazy, then you are correct but proved nothing.

4. He is very smart. I don't think there was a mental break here.

5. On 12/22/22, he reposted @StevStuWill:

Chimps: Males commit 92% of chimpicides and are 73% of chimpicide victims

It’s actually so sad - his family and friends trying to find him.

I don’t think it was his plan. News reports said hat he had lived in San Francisco and Hawaii most recently.

I think his plan was to take Greyhound across America but that got turned upside down once they reported that they he was seen leaving NYC on a Greyhound bus. So I presume that he got off his Greyhound as soon as he could, which left him stranded n Altoona.

How does a young man get so injured while surfing? Blasted by a nasty wave or crashing into rocks?

TSA uses facial recognition now. There's no way he could have flown.

He could have flown the day it happened before his partial photo was everywhere.

A young man randomly hanging out in the middle of nowhere PA makes you look extremely suspicious. Dead-end rust belt towns are all townies and elderly people.

They would have tracked him if he’d flown.

I don't know that they would have, or if they did, it would take awhile. He could have been across the globe in a country without an extradition treaty before they even released their crappy pics.

Flying is expensive and requires credit cards and valid IDs. Would also have to toss all of the fake IDs.

That said, should have bought a Rolex on a credit card and flown to a foreign country. Rolex can be sold for quick cash.

Hanging out in middle PA is a lame after such apparent methodical planning.

This is a pretty wacky ending. How could he think this was a good idea? Did the popular reaction make him cocky? People might talk a big game when they're behind a keyboard at home, but it turns out people are nervous around murderers.

His parents own Turf Valley Resort and Hayfields Country Club

They also own NINE assisted living facilities in Maryland. These folks have big $$$$$.

I'm sure they own a bunch of other valuable pieces of land around the Baltimore area. Where the heck did all this wealth come from? It seems like the family started all these businesses in the late 70s and into the mid 80s.
