And where do you work?
DH works for FBI and they've already been told there will be furlough days if we go over the fiscal cliff. Anyone else? |
|
Not told or decided as of thurs.
I know some parts of NPS got notice of such. |
| Treasury. No furloughs planned yet. Open positions are being left unfilled. |
| EPA-specifically told no furloughs. We have not been backfilling positions for months though and that will continue. |
| Yes, and I have been saving $$$ for this for months. |
|
Me, no....husband, yes.
We both work for the Department of Defense but I work at a lab and the money for work is paid ahead of the fiscal year. He works for a different DoD organization that is congressionally funded. We have saved money for it but I'm still anxious and angry about the whole thing. |
| No furloughs planned at VA. |
What agency? |
My understanding is that VA is specifically exempt from sequestration. |
| Yes, that is correct. |
|
Anyone heard anything about HHS?
|
Have an interview with them for a SA position in january. I guess it'll be moot since it seems new positions will left unfilled through 2013 the way things are shaping up. |
I haven't heard anything specific but I bet it will vary from agency to agency. (Some agencies have less cushion than others...) |
| This is terrible, but as long as there are no rifs, I would personally enjoy a furlough. Sure, it would suck not to get paid, but we could do it for up to a few months, actually, if needed. However, I wouldn't want it to happen because it might have a really terrible effect on other workers that did not have a cushion. |
| fbi. no rifs. furlough one day per pay period. wouldnt happen for several months. still hiring for funded positions. |
