Will your Federal office be implementing furloughs if sequestration goes into effect?

I hope our small agency takes volunteers for furloughs. Some of us can afford it and some cannot.

DH's office might have furloughs. We are preparing for it. I'm much more worried about RIF's though.

GAO - furloughs but no RIFs. Our leadership has opted for shared sacrifice, which (as a newbie) I appreciate tremendously.

We haven't heard anything concrete but word is that the components with extra cash may be "asked" to help bail out those with big shortfalls.

Another Treasury poster - you aren't in the know obviously. Treasury is planning furloughs if sequestration goes into effect. Early planning was started in fall, updates at first of year.

Sure, it would suck not to get paid, but we could do it for up to a few months, actually, if needed. However, I wouldn't want it to happen because it might have a really terrible effect on other workers that did not have a cushion.

RIF's take too long to implement, so not feasible to do it between March 1st and end of fiscal year.

Word went out that all DoD agencies will be doing furloughs from August to September. 2 days per pay period, i.e. 1 day a week.

DH works for FBI and they've already been told there will be furlough days if we go over the fiscal cliff. Anyone else?

Have an interview with them for a SA position in january. I guess it'll be moot since it seems new positions will left unfilled through 2013 the way things are shaping up.

FBI has not been told furloughs will take place. The Attorney General was very ambiguous and positive in his email. But yes the director testified months ago ALL employees would have to forlough including agents and those working National Security. It is unprecedented. And republicans suck.
