| I hope our small agency takes volunteers for furloughs. Some of us can afford it and some cannot. |
| DH's office might have furloughs. We are preparing for it. I'm much more worried about RIF's though. |
| GAO - furloughs but no RIFs. Our leadership has opted for shared sacrifice, which (as a newbie) I appreciate tremendously. |
| what is a rif? |
|
Okay answering my own question - http://www.opm.gov/rif/general/rifguide.asp
Sorry I'm a newish fed |
OP, a RIF is not a Furlough. |
Have heard there will be furloughs at HHS. |
Reduction in force |
|
How about DOJ?
|
We haven't heard anything concrete but word is that the components with extra cash may be "asked" to help bail out those with big shortfalls. |
|
RIF's take too long to implement, so not feasible to do it between March 1st and end of fiscal year. |
| Word went out that all DoD agencies will be doing furloughs from August to September. 2 days per pay period, i.e. 1 day a week. |
FBI has not been told furloughs will take place. The Attorney General was very ambiguous and positive in his email. But yes the director testified months ago ALL employees would have to forlough including agents and those working National Security. It is unprecedented. And republicans suck. |
