Lanier said "Wint worked for AIW". This is new info. Others were speculating.

Lanier confirmed that police think it is Wint in video surveillance at burning car scene.

I'm thinking that Wint could possibly have been working alone -- he is certainly athletic enough to overpower the victims -- maybe one by one. The maid, son and mother. He could have overpowered them and just waited for SS to show up.

I think he could have acted alone.

But two pizzas were delivered on Wed night.

One man could certainly eat a whole pizza, and then some. I have eaten a whole pizza, and I am female of average height and build (please, no snarks, I was stressed out)

She said they would not rule it out.

I don't understand how one 5' 7" person could do this. There's no indication he even had a gun, right?

I think this is one of the things that rattles me the most.

He planned this whole thing out. Of course he brought a knife at the very least. He is pretty damn muscular too.

But, here we are again. So awful. There are a lot of fine, upstanding young AA men, their mothers, and fathers who must be sick about this today.
And, for whatever it's worth, I am a white, middle-aged woman with kids who went to the same schools as the Savopoulos children.

I am black. And I am sickened by ANY senseless act of violence. But the race of the victims and perps does not influence my disgust.

Is this a new "black guilt" thing?

No. I think it is just an acknowledgement that people of all races are disgusted by this heinous act.

Exactly. Race has nothing to do with this horrendous crime as far as I can tell. Criminals come in all colors, as do victims.

We need to focus on the crime here.

Personally, I'm particularly disgusted that an innocent child was a victim here; maybe I am biased because I'm a parent. But if this guys guilty (and DNA strongly suggests he is) then I hope he gets the maximum penalty.

You do realize that "the Caribbean" is not one town or one island, right?

I think the poster meant the house in DC was under renovation, not the one in the Caribbean.

This is a private community and it seems in bad taste to be discussing such a tragedy on Facebook or give interviews.

Yes, I agree with this whole heartedly. I think most have been keeping hush publicly out of respect for the family's privacy.

No one on this forum knows the answer. Of course, it's a possibility he threatened them with a gun.

I agree with PPs who say this is random. Unless they come up with a motive more personal to this family than just that this guy worked at some point for one of the father's businesses (like he was hired by someone with a grudge against them), I would still put this in the category of terrifying shit that could happen to anyone.

Do you understand that random means no connection?

the woman interviewed on ABC, mentioned previously, is named on their site. "close friend?" Hard to believe.

If he's believed to be in Brooklyn are NY news outlets reporting this? I don't see anything on NY1.

Well, he's on the front page of the New York Post.

Don't be a simpleton. this guy was likely so far down the ladder at the victim's company that they had zero interaction. He just knew the father was the big boss and ergo likely rich. As connection's go, that's pretty effing thin. There is very little difference between that and any random perp targeting a house or person that they surmise is "rich".
