“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled," Justice Alito writes in an initial majority draft

Newsflash! They don’t have the votes to do away with the filibuster!

The blame lays at the feet of GOP who pass these laws and YES, to Dems for not investing in state govt where these draconian laws start. News Flash! The federal government is not as powerful so many of you think. While we keep having the same argument about Nader, Bernie, moderate, progressives, the GOP have taken over the real levers of power.
Focus on flipping state govs in Nov. start with AZ, GA (Gov) PA (gov), MI, & WI. Heck, I now think Beto may even have a chance in TX.

Are you referring to two Democratic Party members who consistently refuse to support the party? Two “moderates”? Or is it the current leaders who cannot control the party? The filibuster could be eliminated with 51 votes. But you already knew that.

Haha. Just need to word it in a way that appeals to low-info voters.

You think red states are red.....because the Ds didn't put enough money there?

Have you heard of REDMAP? It was a program by Karl Rove, Ed Gillespie, and Chris Jankowski used dark money made possible by Citizens United, to reshaped state legislatures, where the power to redistrict is held. It's was incredible cheap and effective. Dems focused on having the first Black president and stopped investing in state and local races. So yes, yes I do.

So in other words the GOP availed themselves of Russian and domestic dark money and you’re mad that the Democrats didn’t do this? I get it, I’m annoyed too, but let’s not pretend that everything was on the up and up with how they did this.

Obama, Democrats lost close to 1,000 elected seats in local and state elections. They stopped contesting races, they didn't invest in the delivery system of information (cheap talk radio which is how GOP is getting so many Latino voters through Spanish disinformation talk radio. Until 2016 when Amanda Litman started Run for Something there was NO pipeline for candidates, no bench building, and certainly no party support. So YES, they are to blame because they STILL aren't doing this. I don't pretend to be an expert on this, I got politically active in 2016. But I saw that state races were ignored and they still are and these draconian laws start in the states so why aren't we investing to win there so we can fight back like Mallory McMorrow is?

Until Dems see GOP for the threat they are and ACT on it, they are partially to blame. And I am a liberal!

This all goes back to gerrymandering. I've taken several very informative classes on the subject and it's sad that literally the way some of these maps are drawn, Democrats could get hundreds of thousands more votes and not gain a single seat

Agree and how were GOP allowed to do this? I taking over statehouses is 10 years ago. And no, I am not saying that Democrats should use dark money available themselves to disinformation, but jezus, don’t just sit things out and expect demographics to do all the work.

I’m not “blaming” the party. I’m pointing out where they could have done better. I WANT them to succeed!

+1 I don't totally blame the dems because they have to develop policy and a platform which involves a lot of work that the GOP have basically just abandoned. But they are just not strategic enough in local races and then we have democratic donors who go for the big flashes like donate to beat McConnell rather than donate where we actually have a chance.

I welcome all the GOP outrage about Alito's continued leaking.

Where are all the outraged republicans? Alito is here leaking to Politico and threatening his fellow justices. I thought you were all so very concerned with the sanctity of the court and its process.

Oh god the millions for Amy McGrath! So now armed with this information we ALL need to be more stategic where we give our time and money. There is hard evidence shows that exciting Democrats to turn out for local races can increase turnout and help juice the top of the ticket. It's because of this fact that I give all my time and money to state races. And they need it the most now.

Seems the Conservatives are leaking worse than an old lady’s bladder:

Where are those right wing posters calling for the leakers to be disbarred again? Haven’t heard from them in a few days.

No, the conservatives seem to have disappeared and don't want the leakers punished now that are probably conservatives.
