What happened to this California family?

I am not sure what you were looking at, I saw the same account and it had no photos with extended family. Had his family in the UK even met the baby with cv travel restrictions?

At least a couple photos with her parents and others with his parents. I didn’t see any of the grandparents with Miju probably because she was born during the height of Covid. Pictures of her and Oski and her sister and Oski’s sibling Maple.

Regarding comments on Ellen’s insta. I must have read her Insta before trolls took over because I only saw normal comments from friends like “nice picture”, “congratulations”, “good luck” or whatever normal things people post on photos. Probably the nasty comments came from trolls taking advantage of someone’s tragic death. I wouldn’t believe those comments for a moment.

How far along in pregnancy was Chung when they married?

People have posted that a brother of Ellen seemed to suggest on social media that she was unhappy or struggling. Could someone say more or post a screenshot?

It is possible to be unhappy and still die accidentally.

Such a long commute to come for a visit and yeah, with Covid and a new baby, I’d say they took precautions like all sane persons.
Their city friends might not be interested in Mariposa. Gerrish still has SF condo so if they wanted to visit the city, they had accommodations.
Gerrish’s brother is now in Mariposa, right? I’m sure he can’t wait to get to the bottom of this and take care of biz.😥

They were married two years and Miju had just turned one.

Oh thanks. I was told they married when she was 4-5 months pregnant and their anniversary was coming up.
Miju was a real cutie, a very big little girl. Looks like she had daddy wrapped around her finger.

Nobody has answered about Ellen’s brother comment suggesting she was unhappy.
Also someone repeatedly posted Ellen was sleeping all day while a nanny was taking care of the baby but how does the poster know that? Wasn’t Ellen taking counseling courses and had nanny while studying?

This is what she was taking online.

What is Integral Education?

Integral studies are a response to the growing need to synthesize the fragmentary aspects of contemporary thought and culture into a meaningful whole. The integral outlook, envisioned by the founders of CIIS as embodying a creative synthesis of the highest values of East and West, has grown to encompass the study of traditions and experience from around the globe. Integral studies at CIIS encompass all aspects of learning: the intellectual, the experiential and the applied.

Providing an integral education for a changing world, the Institute creates and integrates knowledge beyond the confines of traditional academic disciplines. CIIS values cultural diversity, multiple ways of knowing, spirituality, a sense of community, emancipatory ideals, and ecological sustainability, developing a reflective and innovative learning community. In exploring the interplay of mind, body, and spirit, integral education connects the spiritual and practical dimensions of intellectual life. The integration of the wisdom traditions presents an evolution of consciousness that has never been more relevant and crucial than it is today.

We offer degrees in spirituality and religion, psychology and counseling, cultural anthropology, organizational and leadership studies, health, and the arts. Our certificate programs in Psychedelic Research and Human Sexuality, among others, have earned a vanguard reputation.

Was Gerrish rich/high income? Sure seems that way with the multiple properties, non-working spouse, nanny, etc.

I think he actually liked it there, he had been buying property there long before Ellen.

But for covid, not sure their lifestyle would have changed so suddenly and radically.

I wonder if he had kids from his prior marriage that he wanted to be closer to?

30 is young for a mom in SF, I doubt many of their burner friends were having families yet.

She looked really different in the 1 year photos.

Many who are drawn to study counseling are trying to figure out their family of origin or own deep seated mental health problems.

In more populated areas, moms with potential PPD would be encouraged to connect and socialize with other moms of babies, the median age in Mariposa is in their 50s and it was a 20 mile drive. The whole set up sounds really difficult. Maybe the idea of another winter there seemed like too much, so isolated. And if Jon was very doting with the baby, she may have felt jealous or left out. I have seen that happen.

Not many places for "date nights" or to dj. I assume they would avoid SF b/c baby and covid. I imagine his apartment there was rented out.

I still think it could have been accidental, but risk taking/dopamine chasing played a role and the extreme heat had to be a factor, even if it was one of several.

That's nonsense. All of your post is pure speculation but that part is nonsense.

Are you a parent? Or are you one of the true crime types who has descended on this parenting board?

Social support is very important for new moms, esp new moms who are struggling. Your ignorance is troubling.

Being very socially isolated is not healthy. In fact, isolating is a common sign of depression. https://publichealth.tulane.edu/blog/effects-of-social-isolation-on-mental-health/

Huh. Well, she did say it was only funemployment...

Maybe thinking about relationships with little else to do, too much ruminating, etc, was not healthy?

Really we don’t know what to believe on any forum. I read John’s mom died years ago.
His father seems to be a nature lover—guess he was John’s inspiration.
As far as the IG posts are you guys talking about the viscous posts calling Ellen a nut job and the this shocks no one posts?

Wow, Gerrish’s dad lives rural too. Looks like Jon wanted to give his daughter the same upbringing he experienced.

So I didn’t know the family but know someone who does, and she said they were a sweet family. I don’t know anything about the family or their timeline. But for cultural context, Burning Man, integral psychology, getting married after pregnancy/baby… none of these are a big deal at all in the Bay Area and are barely even fringe they’re so common. So the people spinning off theories about murder/suicide are really reaching.

Trying to figure out why they married since they seem pretty incompatible.

I think she wants to argue. If she finds the discussion upsetting, idk why she reads.
Thank you for informative links.

As far as isolation there really was no way for a pregnant woman to avoid it in the midst of a global pandemic. That had to be difficult, probably months passed with no socialization other than online. Any outings probably consisted of seeing her doctor and doula.
