TSA uses facial recognition now. There's no way he could have flown.

He could have flown the day it happened before his partial photo was everywhere.

A young man randomly hanging out in the middle of nowhere PA makes you look extremely suspicious. Dead-end rust belt towns are all townies and elderly people.

They would have tracked him if he’d flown.

He's not leftist AT ALL.

Meh. His reading list and online history is a Rorschach test for people’s own political alignment. People who want him to be left-wing see that, people who want him to be right-wing see that. Much like the Unabomber, his political ideology probably crosses both traditional left- and right-wing positions because at heart he is probably just crazy.

Honestly a very bright male 26-year-old who who disappeared and is into psychedelics? I think schizophrenia is more likely than a specific political persuasion.

Hopefully he gets life in prison.

Not really...he follows Tucker and Elon!

He follows AOC and Trevor Noah as well. The real tell is Tim Urban.

It’s sad that the endgame of his plan was to wait out a national manhunt at a McDs in Altoona.

Yes!!!!!!!!

What a letdown.

Imagine being a ruthless grinder corporate striver your whole life just to get merked by an Abercrombie model named Luigi. Really unbelievable stuff.

He’s obviously a horseshoe theory leftists. These people are all over social media.

Can you explain what a "horseshoe theory" leftist is? He's so far right he's left? I don't understand.

The crazy left wing and crazy right wing are more alike than different because they come together in their craziness.

I don't know that they would have, or if they did, it would take awhile. He could have been across the globe in a country without an extradition treaty before they even released their crappy pics.

He and his family have benefited greatly from the health care industry. I’m guessing he has either a serious mental illness (which is tragic) or major issues with mom and dad (in which case he’s not a folk hero but a petulant rich kid.)

It is the other way around. He is an extreme anti-capitalist leftist that went so far left that he became a reactionary ideologue. I think he settled as an accelerationist.

I don't think he has the money for this.

He reposted this on a book review website, seems to tease out his headspace:

Peaceful protest is outright ignored, economic protest isn't possible in the current system, so how long until we recognize that violence against those who lead us to such destruction is justified as self-defense.

These companies don't care about you, or your kids, or your grandkids. They have zero qualms about burning down the planet for a buck, so why should we have any qualms about burning them down to survive?

We're animals just like everything else on this planet, except we've forgotten the law of the jungle and bend over for our overlords when any other animal would recognize the threat and fight to the death for their survival. "Violence never solved anything" is a statement uttered by cowards and predators."
