lol you act like GA/MLS Next and AYSO don’t have a say in this |
The ECNL podcast indicates each league can do it on its own, so it is possible for 25/26, only ECNL league will do the SY. |
So many things are "possible" Stop trying to talk your position up like it's the only option. What's annoying is if BY stays you'll slink back under your rock. If things change to SY you'll run around gloating with I told you so's. |
ECNL could switch to SY tomorrow by allowing 18 Aug-Dec birthdays to play down an age group. |
Not sure about other leagues, but for ECNL, it is a done deal. We can bet on it. My kid plays for MLSN to avoid trap year and start there, but I am open for more options and with possibility Q3/Q4 ECNL players join MLS after the change. |
And that's fine. ECNL leadership made it clear in the July podcast that SY was their preference. No other leagues have defined a stance yet. |
They all do. I’m talking specifically Us club and UsYS. |
|
Surely mls will step in and make clubs with
ECNL Girls/boys MLS Next make some tough decisions |
| Does anyone anticipate us club or usys making an announcement next week? |
| No, they will probably go on their podcast and give these folks new talking points |
US club and USYs don’t have a podcast? ECNL people are not completely in the know either. Your average ECNL director had no idea this was even being discussed. The only people in the know are coaches who have connections to league board members. If you’re not playing soccer politics they don’t tell anyone anything. |
My clubs ECNL director pre DPL announcement said he didn’t have any idea this was even discussed. I don’t believe he would make that up. Parents have asked him and he said this was never brought up from anyone at ECNL. |
Same. Ours said it was just the annual summer pre-season parents’ gossip. Welp…I guess whatever comes, they’ll figure it out. It’s a shame that they have to go through this year sort of locked in already. |
| The announcement will be on 11/22. ECNL might be the only league to make the change next year. |
| How would that work for the ECNL clubs that also have lots of teams that play in USYS and US Club leagues ? It would make tryouts very complicated. |
