best jarred applesauce?

Is any brand of jarred applesauce a stand out or does Giant brand pretty much taste the same as any other? Please name your favorite applesauce from a jar!

Homemade .. Peel core dice apples and toss on saucepan. Cool until apples are soft and mushy. Delicious. I usually add cinnamon at the end.

This is the PP. Sorry for all the typos, was on my phone. I meant toss in a saucepan and cook the apples. I usually use a moderate heat and stir frequently. Use a potato masher at the end to mush them up. As for store bought (which I know was the original question, but homemade is so much better and super easy) I prefer Mott's naturals with no sugar added.

If you're in MD, there is a Heyser Farm, a small farm off New Hamshire. They make a delicious applesauce from their own apple variety. We've moved but used to buy it by the case (they sell individual jars, but cases made for fewer trips). Seriously, it's worth the drive. I'd call first to make sure it's in stock (likely since apple season just ended).

My kids request Giant Brand Natural..well they would prefer sweetened but they know they are not getting it regularly..

I look for the unsweetened brand of anything. It tastes better to me and my kids don't need the extra sugar.

White House brand Natural Plus -- the kind with the added apple juice instead of sugar. Both in jars and small cups. Big difference in flavor. I use this when I run out of homemade.

Do you really think OP doesn't know what is involved in making applesauce? It's not exactly a state secret. Why would you assume the reason she asked for a jarred brand is because making applesauce is too hard and she needs something "easier"? Maybe she prefers jarred. Maybe she needs to travel with it. Maybe she doesn't have the time to peel 10 apples and wait around while they get soft and then wash the pan. Maybe she just doesn't want to. It doesn't matter. I just can't fathom how you would take the time to write not one, but two posts, giving information that won't be used in response to a question that was never asked.

Sorry for the harsh response, but I am amazed at how DCUMers are constantly second-guessing OPs and suggesting options that the OP has made clear are not options. Why are people so unable to take an OP at face value? Do you really not think the OP has not considered the obvious options?

Yes I bought this once and noticed a huge difference from all other jarred AS, can't remember if it has added sugar or not though

Wow calm down, I was just trying to be helpful. Now what I can't fathom is why you would take the time to write this post! It doesn't add to the discussion about applesauce at all. Have a nice day!

Maybe not, but perhaps it will make you think twice next time before you make assumptions and insert your own opinions instead of answering an OP's question, and that would be a huge public service for this site. (I'm certainly not suggesting that you are the worst or only offender with this. It happens all the time on here, and I'm sure it's not always you. I just happened to have a moment to respond to your post, which I don't often have.)
