who is IR?

Good chance STAB would be in a lot of people's top 4 DMV given the alternatives. But as the PP said, that's not really the area we're talking about. So somebody has to fill it in. |
On to predictions:
I think, as good and well coached as Landon is, the few superior players on Bullis shine in this one and they get the job done. 10-8 Bullis. |
Bishop Ireton |
Landon - Bullis rematch is going to be a nail bitter. If it’s raining outside it might help Landon as Bullis as the more potent offense with Mahar and Anzelone.
Maybe slight edge to Landon as they won the first game and it’s on their home field? Regardless, it’s a complete toss-up. Will be a 1 - 2 goal game for all 4 quarters. |
Bishop Ireton has had a strong girls program for well over a decade - some years even ranked in the top 10 nationally.
With Saint Stephen’s boys program a shell of what it once was just five years ago (they are borderline a JV program), BI needs to seize on this opportunity. Would be great for the WCAC if Ireton could sustain an above average program. |
Tend to agree. Bullis has work to do however, and cannot play like they did yesterday against Prep. I would say it's not the Bullis offense that has to show up but it'' the Bullis defense, which has not been discussed much this season. In first game Bullis defense let some easy ones in. To their credit they were on their heels a lot, because Landon dominated at X. I don't see that changing, and if it doesn't they will have to find a way to stop Landon's very disciplined offense. Bears midfielders and attack are very capable, and just move the ball so well. Bullis is solid with first two slides, but that third is exploited "a lot". They will have to communicate well and minimize the easy ones. No easy task. Bears offense is good and well coached. In game one, I am pretty sure Landon won the ground ball battle as well. I don't; see that changing much either, Bullis doesn't get the 50/50 ground ball much. It should be close for a bit, but I see Bears wearing down the Bulldogs and win by 4+. Specialists will be huge, as others have mentioned, but this Landon team is just better all around and play a cleaner strategy. |
Would love to see a game next week that matches up the WCAC champion against the IAC tournament champion.
Come on AD's, this is not that difficult. Play it at either Landon or Bullis since both are ranked higher nationally than any team from the WCAC this spring. A neutral site like Georgetown or Maryland or Catholic would require a rental fee. |
Then that winner can play the MIAA A division to set up a clash with the Long Island Champ. They could show the final game on ESPN in between day 11 of the Scripps national spelling bee and the highlights from the Arkansas & North Dakota regionals of the little league World Series. |
A neat idea for neutral fans, but my guess is that neither side is likely very interested in ending their season with a loss (one team will lose), instead of a conference championship win. The risk of losing what is essentially an exhibition just isn't worth the reward. |
Same poster here. It obviously won't happen this year, but I do think they could take the top 3 or 4 from IAC and WCAC and play a 6 or 8 team DMV tournament. They do it in Virginia with the VISAA (PVI and EHS participate), so there's plenty of precedence. |
All sponsored by the "Jump to conclusions" mat game! |
The kids whose teams didn’t win to advance would be forced to go to beach week with their friends or on vacation with their families instead of playing another game solely for the satisfaction of overstimulated drunken lax-dads and keyboard warriors. |
MIAA ends their season the 3rd week in may.
Would be good for DC area lax to crown a DMV champion. One extra game, winner of IAC vs winner of WCAC is very do-able. If the VISAA members of the IAC (EHS and saints) and the WCAC (PVI, BI, DOJ) rather focus on the VISAA state tournament that is fine. |
Bishop MacNamara looks like they could be turning things around… hearing reports of them opening up a boarding school and beginning to recruit, getting a couple of transfers from the Philadelphia and Tri-State regions respectively. They could be pretty good next year and shake things up in the WCAC. |
