Political Discussion
No no. Stick with your narrative arc it is truly fascinating. First it was “no one is demanding the hostages be released!” (Everyone including the UN Security Council demanded the hostages be released, Israel pressures the U.S. who abstains) Then it was “you aren’t calling for Hamas to surrender!” (Everyone points out that Hamas does not care at all what we think. Posters who do think Hamas should surrender are called naive) And now it’s “the only way you aren’t Pro-Hamas is if you vote for politicians who want to spend billions supporting Israel and containing Iran” Well, Obama-Biden administration had the JCPOA which Israel opposed and Trump left. So who does that leave us with? Oh right. The Republicans. So your narrative is the only way you’re not pro-Hamas is if you vote for Republicans. Thanks but no thanks, my MAGA friend. |
So you don’t believe that Israel, a state duly established and constituted by the United Nations, should exist. I agree: that’s the end of the conversation. |
OMG, oh no! You have spoken. The US will def correct course now. |
I’d be more concerned that the IDF wouldn’t even know how to utilize the nuclear tech. we gave them without harming themselves. The Mr. Magoo revelations in this Gaza bombing orgy have cast a very harsh spotlight on their skill and capabilities. |
Israel Winning (Again): Arabs Claim Victory |
The IDF is taking your concern to heart and is currently working on pushing it up the chain of command. Thank you for your service to the State of Israel. |
Wasn't there a poster who argued, rather passionately, that states come and go, borders move and everyone should just shrug and go back to eating lunch? Then why do we have to be passionately committed to the existence of any state? |
Nice straw man, you make that yourself or pick it up at the Dollar Store? But seriously, the “feelings don’t matter, nothing matters” guy from Russia or Ukraine or wherever has told us over and over again that borders change, nation states fall all the time, and the ethnic composition of countries change throughout history, too. If that’s true, what’s the problem if any of those happens to Israel? I mean, Israel doesn’t deserve preferential treatment or a special status, right? I’m indifferent, but you don’t seem indifferent. Why is that? |
Do they know up from down, though? |
Nope. Just a big, fat kid who otherwise looked very ordinary. |
Not a straw man—exactly what the PP said. |
I am new poster. I am also someone who has said before that borders and ethnic compositions change all the time .I am a Zionist. That doesn’t mean that I believe that the current borders of Israel will remain the same for a millennia or that the ethnic composition will not change . It is plausible that Israel will undergo all kinds of changes just like any other country in the world . |
It depends on how much war and instability you’re comfortable with. Me? I’m a fan of peace, so I generally oppose the obliteration of nations. |
What’s sad (or another sad thing) is that it’s probably the case that almost all IDF personnel are scared kids, conscripted into this never ending mess, and just as indoctrinated to fear and hate Palestinians and Muslims the exact same way the Palestinian youth are indoctrinated to resent Israel and Jews. There’s massive imbalance, of course, but it’s still just a mess. |
Yes, the status of Israel may change, but you cannot tell us that we must think that the change is an imperative or that we have to see that it happens and do what it takes to make it happen. Also, we are not required to leave it to the wolves so to speak. You can seek to dismantle it on your own or with others who have that goal, but just be ready for the consequences and don't come back to us with cries of "injustice" "oppression" "babies"! |
