You ripped off the govt and US taxpayers. The only thing that your scoundrels in-laws ‘knew’ is that the IRS wouldn’t be checking. Funny! |
Not if they're white men. Wealthy Elisabeth Warren is fine because she's a woman. Same with Feinstein and Pelosi. Check out how they amassed their riches. |
Squi is a key witness as is Mr. Judge. It seems like there is a code of silence from these prep schools as evidenced by Kavanaugh's comment that what happened at Georgetown Prep, stays at Georgetown Prep. The FBI may have difficulty breaking that code in a background investigation. Squi does not even have to talk to the FBI if he does not want. Judge has hired a high powered defense attorney. She is saying the right things about how he will cooperate but will not let him put himself in legal jeopardy with a Montgomery County investigation now seemingly like a real possibility. Most fair minded people are going to right back in the same place after a week, with as much certainty as doubt. Kavanaugh may get through with 51 votes. This issue is going to need to get litigated in the midterms and the potentially with judicial impeachment proceedings for apparently lying about yearbook entries. That is the long game. |
"And I worked my butt off and was not a legacy." Oh, wait, another LIE. https://www.newsweek.com/kavanaugh-said-he-had-no-connections-yale-he-was-legacy-student-1145286 |
I would be surprised if the FBI goes that far...they may ask her if she released them to the WaPo or not and then she'd either have to lie to the FBI or again claim (quite unbelievably) she doesn't remember something from 3 months ago when the WaPo article specifically states Ford provided them portions of the therapist's notes. I can't imagine they'd subpoena her therapist's notes. |
Never gonna happen. |
Let’s say he didn’t drink on weeknights. That still doesn’t rule out July 1, 1982. Yes it is a Thursday night. However it obviously says on his calendar he’s going to drink. She said it was an early event so maybe the idea was to get the drinking done early so they wouldn’t wake too hungover...it’s the beginning of summer so they probably don’t realize yet how rough it is to wake up for work the next day. And perhaps most important: It’s the Thursday before the long weekend for the holiday. Fri July 2 was a quasi holiday. It’s also very easy to imagine noone remembering this event. A few drinks before a long weekend that most of them probably left town for. And before a long summer.
Ironically this calendar will probably be what does him in. It offers up a perfect timeline vizaviz the later Safeway encounter; without the calendar there would be no date to focus on. |
Then 15 year old girls should not drink beer at parties with older athletes who are heavy drinkers. |
Yep. It's her fault that Kavanaugh assaulted her. He is a beast when drunk, and she should have known better. |
Only for the sentencing part in a criminal investigation, do emotions come into play. During a SC decision, one is not supposed to take into consideration that they are a 'strong Latina woman', etc. Justice is supposed to be blind and SC decisions are made based on Constitutional law. That is why there was so much flak when Roberts changed Obama's words and said "he didn't really mean tax, he meant penalty' when ruling on Obamacare. The reason Democrats are so freaked out about a second SC appointment, and why Schumer said he would fight it from the start, is because the only way Dems have been able to get anything passed lately is using the courts. |
Nope. Not PP, but you clearly have no understanding of tax law. If you're angry about this, ask the Republicans why it's all legal. If you understood the tax code you would realize just how very stacked the deck is. |
He said during his testimony he generally didn't drink on weekdays and specifically stated the exception was that July 1 party. The guy she briefly dated - the person through whom she said she knew Kavanaugh - would have been there, but she doesn't not remember him as an attendee. Ford said the home where the assault took place was near the country club in CC, MD, but Tim Gaudette's home was 11 miles away from the country club. The calendar says there were 7 boys there, but Ford said there were 4 boys and 1 girl other than herself. Though she said she couldn't rule out there was others in her testimony to the SJC, she had the benefit of giving testimony on that after Kavanaugh's calendar was made public. Never mind the fact that the record indicates she has a very sketchy recall of the time frame during which the alleged assault happened. It went from her being in her late teens and in the mid-1980s to early 1980s to suddenly being narrowed by her to 1982 because she somehow manages to remember (how? why?) she wasn't driving yet when she went to this party, even though she can't remember how she got to and from the party. |
Clearly, it’s her fault. It’s always the victim’s fault, right? |
You have a very very poor understanding of the Supreme Court and judging. There are some cases that are purely based on the law, but they are almost all statutory. The constitutional cases are the open-ended ones that require using much more than "the law," and values of empathy and fairness absolutely play a huge role. |
Tom Corton to all little girls: if you don't tell right away, nobody will believe you EVAR. Also, if you tell, we still won't believe you if it relates to someone who is useful to our cause. You don't matter. None of you matter. The Democrats are the reason you are not being believed. |
