DC United Academy - aa strong academy or not

And it isn't the kids. It is the system they are in that is failing them

If you need any proof of how dysfunctional and poor DCU is as an academy just view or ask about the quality of the games the u14 cohort put together recently. Embarrassing.
Are you a parent of one of the U14 players? Do you coach for DCU or work on staff? How was the quality embarrassing for you?

You realize it was the first time those kids played together and many of them played new positions to boot?

You are such a loser….
Name calling...classy. Truth sucks. I get it.

Keep making excuses for DCUs shortcomings. Get used to it because you'll be doing a lot of that the more you stick with the program. Whose fault was it that this was the first time they played together?? DCUs. Playing out of position? DCUs decision. Not all the best players from the region on the field or on team, again DCUs making. Not having a real u14 team this season...DCUs decision.

In the 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025 seasons, the first three seasons of DCU u14 as non pay to play, I'm pretty sure the first games DCUs U14s played together were complete blowouts. Or at a minimum convincing wins. DCU just had better talent. Now, there is a talent discrepancy that is obvious AND a poor development system. That is what is embarrassing. For a MLS academy to be this poor and for it to be in our area.
But they're right

You're an insecure low self-esteem loser obsessed with the academy, the kids and their parents.

Your kid isn't on the team and you have nothing to do with soccer at that level, or you'd be focused on your own kid.

Because your kid and the kids of your other pity-party friends aren't good enough, you're hating on the kids and families who are.

Because in your mind you want all of that to be true to make yourself feel better about what is being said about the sh#t situation you're in at DCU. If the negativity is coming from some disgruntled parent whose kid didn't make it, their opinion can be easily dismissed as sour grapes. Logical.

BUT, and like was said before, unfortunately, it isn't a sour grapes scenario. My kids are grown and I have lots of time. I just happen to have been in youth soccer my entire life and dealt with so many good parents and soccer people along the way, and I have obtained a lot of knowledge about and significant experience with youth soccer in the DMV and internationally and I feel compelled to arm parents in our area that want to listen with the right information so they can make good decisions for their kids. I have met so many parents in our area that just don't know what is going on and they are honestly victims of the system. Especially when it comes to DCU. And DCU is such a mess and a black box when it comes to transparency and information sharing, there should at least be a place where parents can come and get information to make decisions. DCU will never share these details with you that are on this board. NEVER.

People like you are easy to spot and minimize. You've got nothing to offer but also have a kid in the system and are upset that people are saying bad things about the choices you've made. It makes you feel inferior as a parent. Why you're on here so much. Here's the thing, I just know more, have done more, seen more, met more people and experienced more than you. You can't keep up with me. Keep trying though. It's entertaining.

Feels like a 🎤 drop moment

As much as I don’t care for the extra vitriol he shares for DCUA, the defensiveness and assumption that any kid not in DCUA is a reject shows the insecurity of the parents in the system.
