Snow day

How is this good? Good for who exactly? A lot of roads in residential areas and around schools are not plowed yet and are now turning to ice. School buses cannot pass into many neighborhoods and with a delay you are just messing up working parents schedules. Only brain dead clueless people would do such a thing. Or privileged stay home moms with huge SUVs who are too bored and have nothing to do but drive their kids around.

Yeah this is literally the worst outcome for everyone unless you’re a stay at home mom who hates her kids

Yeah this is so ridiculous. Either today had to be on or tomorrow is a complete waste of money and resources

You people are infuriating. It’s a complete waste of money and resources to go to school on a weekday? Honestly get a grip.
To warm up every building and bus just to have to shut everything down 5 hours later for what’s ultimately going to be a day full of YouTube videos and Kahoot? Yeah

Welcome to the real world, where going to work and school isn’t based on feeling like it.

Well a lot of people feel differently about that. My girlfriend Honey was saying that it is very disruptive to have a 2 hour delay for her son. He prefers things to be on time or not start at all.

Exactly. It's a stupid distraction for the bored SAHMs with 4x4 SUVs who have nothing to do. It's beyond annoying for working parents especially in areas not plowed, not having access to a 4x4 vehicle and not accessible to school buses, plus there is zero learning or progress for a few hours "appointment" which is what tomorrow's school day will be like, a mess for the teachers and the students and parents.

Well, they win, I guess, like they always do. Ladies of leisure rule again.

So school is in tomorrow?

UGH, I hope not.. and I am a parent who works from home. Residential streets around us are still not plowed and school buses cannot pass. Hilly terrain doesn't help with this as are all the post holiday sniffles.

Post holiday sniffles??

Seasonal sniffles this time a year, many people are under the weather or recovering. You are new to the world? Happy first birthday

No I mean you’ve been in your house since Monday presumably and the holidays ended last week… sniffles are not a reason to keep schools closed on January 10

I’m happy. We need a step toward normalcy, and at this point the plowing that has been done is all that’s going to get done. At some point you have to get back out there.

2 hour delay! The Hayfield football team is ready to get back in the weight room. 2025 State Champs! We won’t disappoint you. Thanks for keeping school closed. It was a mess down here in PWC.

We love Dr. Reid and her support of looking the other way while we get the best talent in the DMV. Go Hawks!

Now let’s get back to it!

Also with the wording of that message - lots of families are staying home tomorrow. Teachers can’t even teach anything new. They’re literally just opening up the buildings for K-12 daycare so that one mom who sent them the 40 page PDF of complaints doesn’t have a conniption.

I was happy with the snow days to wait till streets in this dysfunctional area are finally clear enough for vehicles that aren't 4x4 and school buses and school schedule could return to routine that won't disrupt my workday and morning meetings.

It is slightly inconvenient schedule-wise, but as they were supposed to be in school anyway this Friday I don't see why I should be upset about it.

Good call. Time to get back to it. Sorry not sorry.

Why can't school buses drive over crusty snow? Every other vehicle can.

Who is that "mom", I wonder what her schedule is like that she is so desperate to send her kids to school for 3 hours navigating icy streets. The level of despair this mom feels needing her kids out of the house for 4 hours must be incredible.

Looks like Friday Movie Day is back! Going to watch Hidden Figures for math class.
