Plane crash DCA?

You people are nuts.

The flight radar -- you cant track all flights (and ships) on line. The Blackhawk appears on the radar 3 miles east of Langley, then flies down river past Langley to the site of the crash.

Sigh. The call letters. Just google it.

So you are saying that the call letters mean that someone is being transported EVERY TIME the BH takes off? Where can I google that please?

If it was a training exercise, and the person with only 500 hours on the BH is at the controls, as fast as these things move, I could see how something could go wrong very quickly and hard to get back on track, especially if they had not identified the correct plane approaching.

If it was a continuity of government training/certification mission, then wouldn't the PAT call sign be the appropriate one to use for such a mission (just as it would in an actual continuity of government situation)?

Prob because they’re mopping up her Google search, social media, and military records. This tragedy could generate multi-billions in potential lawsuit judgments.

They are also hopefully giving her family time to disappear.

At this point I do think they are making it worse.

I also think there’s a rising chance there isn’t even a third pilot, but that’s another issue. If there is, they should ID the person and let the MAGA beasts do their thing. The sooner they release it, the sooner those trolls will move on to their next outrage.

There wasn't a third pilot. There were supposedly three people in the BH that night.
Your information gathering skills really suck. There were three qualified pilots on the BH.

DP here
YOUR information gathering skills really suck. A crew chief is not a "qualified pilot." Crew chiefs are not pilots. Period.

And if he’s unusually quiet about this incident (I have no idea as I’m not on his site) that would be noteworthy, since he seemingly can’t stop himself from weighing in on everything else.

Well now the NTSB has announced it will ONLY be communicating to the press via the app formerly known as Twitter. This is graft, this is corruption. Why the hell is a government bureau only being allowed to communicate through a social media channel owned by Elon. This seems like a crime if I ever saw one.

What? Seriously? No briefings?

You people are hysterical, and I don't mean funny. The NTSB announced that due to the huge amount of requests, they will not be notifying the press of briefings, news, etc., through email. Instead will do public notifications on X for where and when the briefings will take place. Get a grip.

for all those demanding the release of the pilot's name, there is a DoD policy that it won't be released until 72 hours after the next of kin are notified

anyone can google:
DoD Instruction 1300.18 - 4.4.3.

"In cases where Service members...have been reported DUSTWUN... casualty information will not be released to the media or the general public until 72 hours after the NOK has been notified"

(she is listed as 'DUSTWUN')

It's leading to all kinds of crazy speculation, like maybe the "VIP" was flying, or it was a self flying flight, blah blah blah.

it’s weird they wouldn’t have an email distribution list.

Some of us remember all of the lies from the Military industrial complex re: Pat Tillman and Weapons of Mass Destruction and Abu Ghraib.

I would not believe anything they tell us.

With so many people learning about and following this situation through social media and public forums, they clearly are getting hammered with requests. Seems like the best way to ensure everyone can have access to the information. Also, the postings on X aren't new. Just no longer including the email appears to be new.
