That has successfully implemented the ideals of the U.S. Republican party?
That is, has low taxes, few social services, weak/no labor unions, and yet has high wealth, a healthy middle class, and high innovation? This is a genuine question, I'm not trying to be sarcastic. |
|
Or we could name the European countries that espouse the endless social programs the Dems do, and talk about how well those countries are doing right now.
Hello, Greece, line 1. |
| If you get rid of the healthy middle class and high innovation, there are a number of third world dictatorships that might fit. |
Grow up - it was a serious question. Do you have an actual answer, or is this 7th grade juvenalia all you've got? |
Uhh... make your own thread? I guess? Don't hijack mine. |
Uh, Norway? Germany? How hard was that? |
Plenty of these countries - Iceland (look particularly at how they came out of the banking fiasco), all the Nordics, Holland, Austria. |
It was a serious answer.
|
| Still no real response to the original question. |
No, it was not. You did not answer the actual question. You posed your own question and then answered that. You need a time out you brat. |
Monte Carlo might count. Or San Marino. Austria is pretty right-leaning, as is Singapore. |
| Both Egypt and New Zealand have many of the features that OP alludes to. |
Uh... no. |
I wouldn't call Germany's tax rates low - http://www.deloitte.com/assets/Dcom-Global/Local%20Assets/Documents/Tax/Taxation%20and%20Investment%20Guides/2012/dttl_tax_highlight_2012_Germany.pdf Both Norway and Germany have heathcare systems that are heavily sponsored by the government. Here's a link to a handy WHO chart showing to what degree European countries publicly fund their healthcare systems - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Europe. Germany has actually maintained its domestic manufacturing instead of shipping it overseas to save a buck so a) they employ more of their own people in decent paying jobs and b) they make higher quality products that sell for higher prices on the world market. In many cases we just can't claim that anymore. Germany has also relaxed its visa rules to welcome more highly skilled workers into their ranks. Have we done these things? No. And both parties are somewhat to blame for that. |
No, it was a straw man answer. You did not attempt to answer the original question, only posted a different question and answered it. The OP asked for examples of countries that espouse certain programs and values. Devaluing the opposite of those programs and values does not provide an example of the countries that fit the OP's question. |
