Both Norway and Germany have heathcare systems that are heavily sponsored by the government.  Here's a link to a handy WHO chart showing to what degree European countries publicly fund their healthcare systems - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Europe.  Germany has actually maintained its domestic manufacturing instead of shipping it overseas to save a buck so a) they employ more of their own people in decent paying jobs and b) they make higher quality products that sell for higher prices on the world market.  In many cases we just can't claim that anymore.  Germany has also relaxed its visa rules to welcome more highly skilled workers into their ranks.  Have we done these things?  No.  And both parties are somewhat to blame for that.[/quote]
