Sure. Why wouldn’t it? I’ve got lessons ready to go. I’m sure the kids will be excited to be back and engage in what I have planned.

Thank you

The message essentially says to just pull kids out if you think it is not safe.

It’s giving 2021/2022 *shudder*

Yeah this is so ridiculous. Either today had to be on or tomorrow is a complete waste of money and resources

You people are infuriating. It’s a complete waste of money and resources to go to school on a weekday? Honestly get a grip.
To warm up every building and bus just to have to shut everything down 5 hours later for what’s ultimately going to be a day full of YouTube videos and Kahoot? Yeah

I'm a teacher too and even I couldn't get through this without cracking up. Dream on.

A LOT of melt happened today. I was out and things are much better.

Welcome to the real world, where going to work and school isn’t based on feeling like it.

Do we even know if the busses will start? Diesel starts to gel at 15 degrees...

To clarify - was responding to the teacher who believes their students will be engaged in their awesomely planned lessons tomorrow lmao

So school is in tomorrow?

UGH, I hope not.. and I am a parent who works from home. Residential streets around us are still not plowed and school buses cannot pass. Hilly terrain doesn't help with this as are all the post holiday sniffles.

Imagine a spectrum where there completely covered and inaccessible stops at one end and there’s completely dry and accessible stops at the other end. Yesterday, the needle weighed closer to the inaccessible end. Today with more melting and neighbors clearing sidewalks, the needle moved closer to the other end. Not all the way there, but much closer.

Then keep your kids home.

Students are not going to be engaged, it's a waste of time and a huge PITA for parents whose streets are ice sheets and not accessible to school buses. They should keep it closed till Monday or at least till buses can safely operate.
