White men forced to face the reality that they cannot force the pandemic to bend to their will. |
I haven't been here in years, but I just read the whole thread. Good job, sleuths!
I find both APE and SR insufferable and am in neither group. But SR even more so. In every AEM thread, SR people go out of their way to try to make APE look bad, and accuse APE members of doing things they do themselves. Look in a mirror. My takeaways from this thead- Both have members that don't have a moral compass. Who goes about trying to ruin your neighbor's lives? Doxxing is wrong, and just because one side does it doesn't mean it's justified to do so yourself. I think everyone can agree that creating social media accounts to ridicule someone else anonymously just shows you have too much time on your hands. And then for a husband of a SR admin to reveal it just stupid on his end. He must belong to SR, so everyone involved looks bad. It's the same 43 parents who comment on every post and speak at SB meetings. They do not speak for the community, and I hope the school board and superintendent realizes that. It's too bad both have gained so much power to speak on behalf of the rest of us just trying to get through this horrible year. I mean, my kids are staying virtual, but SR definitely doesn't speak for me. I hope the SB races can rise above parent drama. People should question if they should belong to either group. I'm not above the drama though, so hope those Twitter screenshots see the light! |
+1. Also, he is an active member of SR, not just a spouse of SR leadership. |
The dynamics in Arlington are just odd—extreme risk aversion, Type A nerds, pressure to conform, and a school system that was in a confusing place pre-pandemic. |
The handle is @ap_eshit if you want to look it up in blocked status. |
Yup. Plus they want their kids out of their homes/in some better virtual model so they don’t have to fight with their wives about who is responsible for helping them while they both work FT jobs. It’s a lot harder to skate by on the traditionally unequal household burden falling to the WOHM when you’re both WAHPs and have kids who are homeschooling. The lawsuit? Brought by a dad. The recall? A dad. The FOIAs, all of them, dads. The angry and aggressive FB rants on both sides? Mostly Dads. All white. Bunch of man babies. |
The account will never be made public again, but they are certainly still posting. If the person who created it actually recognized their behavior was inappropriate, they would have deleted the account entirely. Instead they only made it private, which means they intend to keep going with encouraging doxxing and harassment, they’re just going to do it more in secret. |
Agreed. For how “woke” the requester of the FOIA request proclaims to be, he has had a pretty successful big law career while his wife got pushed onto the mommy track and eventually gave up practicing law until very recently because there just wasn’t room in the household for two big legal careers while also being involved parents. Utterly stereotypical gender-based division of labor going on there. |
But why would you need anon Twitter accounts if you had access to the powers that be? SR talks a good game in AEM, but in the end, just are sewer rats. |
Well, the pandemic has brought out the worst in people. I'm not active in either group (APE or SR) but I lurk in both just to see what they are saying. I'm pro return to school but also support things like masks and air filters and opening windows when we can, but I also think staying home forever is damaging our children ...
I don't think it will ever be safe enough for the SR people, and it's clear some of the APE people are ready to throw masks out the window and be done with it forever. As for the school board race, Miranda has never said she wants to be rid of masks, while Mary has said she can see us doing shift schedules to be safe in the fall, so on that side of the debate, I lean more to where Miranda is. Keep the mitigations in place we can do and open vs. waiting for some mythical safety stuff to take place that will never happen and that we can't afford. If I was either candidate, I would not want to be judged by the worst members of both groups. Interestingly, though, all over SR right now is one of leaders actively discussing a desire to screenshot people ... |
I know nothing about SR lawyer husband and SR admin lawyer wife, but both of them seem to live on AEM. Same, ventilation lady.
Kind of pathetic. |
You mean the thing they keep accusing APE of wanting to do? SR projects as much as Trump! |
Is that in the SR Facebook group? VITAL or something? |
Wait. What? Why tho? They don't learn, do they? |
Meanwhile in APE, leaders actively tell people we DON'T do that. lol |
