Alliance, not a merger. Club sends its best players to form ECNL team for ages U13-U19 for boys and girls.

Best SYC boys are not going to play ecnl. They would play mls next.

Are you sure about this? McLean email said the top teams will be ECNL. Anyone know if there are any ECNL clubs out there where top team is MLS NEXT and 2nd team is ECNL?

Yes. There are multiple clubs with this structure. Just not around here.

SYC is going to dual roster them on the combined ECNL team and the SYC MLSnext team? SYC dual rosters players now, why wouldn’t they continue?

Pretty stupid. Nobody with both mls next and ecnl does it that way. But fine, if they essentially want to either have one team play two leagues or dilute the ecnl team by having 20-30, I can see McLean rubbing off already. Plus they won’t have many Ecnl games after March anyway.

You see the part where you asserted "either have one team play two leagues or dilute the ECNL team by having 20-30"? That's why it's hard to take you seriously. If you want to know what they're going to do, ask them. When your logic is failing and your biases are glaring, it's always best to ask.

I did ask and was told they are working on the logistics. So no one knows.

You shouldn’t have to ask questions like this. The question arises because the logic of collaboration is weak. You would think that better communication might mask the underlying flaw in the logic of collaboration. But here we are, and here you are saying instead that we should ask what they are going to do, when it is not obvious, when they have not yet explained it, and probably don’t want to explain it because the real answer is not going to be appealing to recruits or current players.

Best MLSNext players will be from Manassas Alliance and part-time players, some players (about 4) will be from SYC. The rest of the players will be in Blue teams and best of those will play in ECNL...and pay the higher fees.

Win, win for the Clubs...not the players.

MLS Next is only for 2009, 2008 and 2007 boys. The rest of the club will be in Alliance.

SYC will be recruiting for MLSnext so not sure how many of the SYC kids will be on MLSnext for those ages...
