Why wasn’t this made public at the time?
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska said Thursday that he believes he had COVID-19 late last year, developing coronavirus symptoms and prompting him to wait at least three months to get vaccinated. Bacon said in a statement that he was exposed to an infected person and experienced symptoms, but never got tested. He said he’s expected to get a vaccine shot on Friday, and encouraged others to get one as well. https://apnews.com/article/don-bacon-nebraska-coronavirus-pandemic-omaha-085dae0a06770a47cd8647bb279cf9b7 |
Do not give a damn
Not fun^^ |
This is the culture that has been playing out in a lot of the Red States - people come down with mysterious symptoms that are exactly like COVID, but don't get themselves tested. They only get tested once the symptoms are bad enough that it requires a hospital visit. I honestly think this is why a lot of the positive numbers in places like TX and FL are inexplicitly low, even as cases rise in other parts of the country. They have fostered a culture of "don't ask, don't tell." And those who are positive don't want to be excluded from socialization. It's wild. |
Yep, it's the "if you don't test, then the numbers don't look bad"... but even with that attitude, FL numbers are going up. https://nbc-2.com/news/health/covid/2021/04/08/florida-covid-cases-on-the-rise-again/ https://www.news-press.com/story/news/2021/04/08/covid-19-cases-rising-lee-collier-florida-spring-break-statistics/7138804002/ Especially in young adults. https://www.wfla.com/news/florida/florida-officials-share-concern-on-rise-of-covid-19-cases-in-young-adults/ |
