I think Meri was catfished because he started to drift away after he married Robyn. I think Meri was having an extremely difficult time around the time Mariah was getting ready to leave (and actually leaving) the nest because it was bringing back all her feelings about being unable to have another baby. Her entire life to that point had been about being a wife and about being a mother. Her status as a wife was declining and she was about to lose her status as a daily mother. And the rest of her sister wives were in entirely different places, Robin was still actively having babies, Christine had very young children (Truely was a baby still really), Janelle had a mess of kids dealing with late childhood/early teenage issues and one actually getting married and starting a family (Janelle is in a situation where she has grandchildren before her own children leave the nest and so will literally never experience what Meri is going through). So Meri is basically having a mid life crisis, her husband is not in love with her anymore, and so she was just very vulnerable to that kind of person. I think she has found great freedom in basically deciding to exist in the family, refuse to walk away herself, but also refusing to be tied down. She started her businesses, she travels, she is one of the only ones who seems to have a robust friend life outside of the family. But she still chooses everyday to not leave entirely. I think Janelle just could care less about romance. She's raising her kids, living her life. She doesn't care much where they live it, she doesn't care if Kody really loves her, she is just keepin on keepin on. Christine I think, especially based on the last episode, has had an epiphany watching Aspyn and Mykelti. Seeing them living these authentic lives with men who love them, not dealing with all this bs, not dealing with sister wives or a crap husband or all the things Christine has ALWAYS resented but now has to endure without loving Kody too gave her the resolve to choose that for herself. I feel like COVID (and them growing up and having their own families and lives) has also made a LOT of the kids resent Kody and Robyn and have insight and opinions into Kody and Robyn that may have not existed or been verbalized in the past. Really fascinating to see the kids feelings leak into the show like they have this season. Ysabel and Kody I don't think will ever be the same. Can you imagine not hugging your child before life altering surgery? I would hug my child before surgery if they had Ebola! Kody loves Robyn, Robyn loves Kody. I think Robyn actually truly does love the whole family. But at the end of the day, they are the two people who are in love. Kody and Meri have such a hard time because they used to be in love like that. Janelle doesn't care because hey were never in love like that. Christine is angry and perpetually hurt because she thought they had love like that but realizes she was mistaken. Such a fascinating show! I wonder if they will keep going with Christine gone, I kind of hope she gets a spinoff! |
I think it is a combination of things. I think the money train from the show is important. I think that since she grew up it she may have waited until her mother passed (which has happened since these episodes were filmed, I believe). I think she is tied to the family (especially some of the children) in ways that we don’t see because it doesn’t fit the drama they are showing on the show. Once the show is done, maybe she will leave too. |
That was a strange nugget because the nanny doesn’t live with them and can come and go and be around the family and the rest of the wives cannot be around. So strange. |
Agree -- they all look really good! |
The irony is that a tbe wives can say f off Kody we are seeing each other but they don’t. Weird. |
They don’t like each other so why would they want to spend time together? |
Kody and Robin were caught. They were trying to punish the others, and didn't want to see Meri, so they used covid as an excuse. Once the others finally called out the nanny situation, they realized they'd have to let Meri visit, since she met the rules requirement, but the others can still be kept out. |
because they are being paid handsomely for continuing this charade. "TLC reportedly spends around $250,000 to $400,000 on every episode, meaning the Brown family receives about $25,000 to $40,000 to split among them. It's estimated that the family has made somewhere around $3 million in total from filming alone since their series began in 2010, which equates to about $375,000 annually." |
Robyn’s eyebrows are blecccccch. |
It appears Christine actually moved to Utah. Good for her if true! |
+1. Not only a nanny but also the nanny’s husband to expose the household. It’s hypocritical and the other wives and children are right to call them out. The fact that none of the adult children are embracing polygamy shows what an abject failure Kody has been as head of household. I wish Janelle and Christine would have their own spin-off. They are the only reason I still watch. |
+1000. None of them bring in enough income outside of the show to support their households. I’ll bet the houses are mortgaged to the hilt. |
I watch for them and Meri-zero interest in Kody and Robyn. |
Spinoff should be Christine, Meri, Janelle, and their kids. Janelle's son Gabe has said some amusing things -- I suspect he may have been the one to call Robyn and ask if the restrictions could be lifted some so they could get together. |
I have watched this show since they built in Vegas. I missed the time that they lived together and how Robyn was introduced etc. My question is why is Meri so devoted to Robyn? |
