And that tape would have been tossed into the pile of all of the other internet sex tapes out there if Kim hadn't decided to market it herself. In 2003 the internet was still a budding dinosaur. Most people have still not seen that tape nor do they want to see it. If she had wanted to keep a lid on it she could have simply NOT made mention of it at every turn. I don't think she intentionally made a sex tape to get famous, I think she bade the video consensually with her boyfriend. No one else got nearly as famous or rich as she did post sex tape, there was no reason for her to expect this outcome.

Exactly. And she actually did sue Vivid when she found out they had the video. She received money in the settlement. The video was going to come out with or without her consent.
