Because they're in the northern part of Arlington?

They're more like Central Arlington. Or, more like Central America, even. Is Washington & Lee still overrun with MS-13?

Was driving down Glebe yesterday am, crossed 50 into N Arlington and there were plenty of day laborers on the North side.

You do understand that the concept of "Central Arlington" exists only in your imagination, right?

Washington & Lee probably doesn't have a lot of gang activity unless Lexington's demographics have suddenly changed.

Lyon Village is the single most desirable neighborhood in Arlington. North Arlington is glad to have Lyon Village be part of it...

Not the poster to whom you're responding, and I think W&L is fine, but I associate that term to more or less capture south of Lee Highway and north of Columbia Pike. It's useful enough, so perhaps you should get off your high horse.

Not really. Country Club Hills is much nicer.

I was at W-L in the late 90s and there was no MS-13. This is obviously a troll post. Lyon Village like Central America? Whaa? Yeah... It's just like East LA here.

I guess it must have been even worse before the renovation, but the Lyon Village Shopping Center is a plain-old strip-mall, with a big parking lot in front and no walkable connection to the real Lyon Village neighborhood because of the high-traffic Lee Highway and said big parking lot. It is isolated between Spout Run, Lee Highway and 66 and looks like a 1950's suburban nightmare.

Hopefully this can be tore down soon and replaced with high density apartments with retail, like in the Clarendon and Courthouse areas.

It's a nice strip mall with high-end shops, and it doesn't look bad at all. The renovation adds a contemporary flair to it. And in terms of size, it's like and old fashioned "park and shop," not the oversized strip malls you usually find in the suburbs.

Another plus is that it's on the bike trail, and a good pit stop for the cyclists.

It's certainly the richest in Arlington. The people that buy in CCH and that buy in Lyon Village are probably looking for very different things.

Nope. The richest neighborhood in Arlington County is the McLean Gold Coast on Chain Bridge Road in 22101.

Yes. LV us a city/urban area with no need for a car and walkable to everything. CCH is a suburb with bigger acreage and houses.

They are apples and oranges. Both very nice neighborhoods.

CCH has a timeless quality. LV is very much flavor of the month. When the lemmings realize how ugly, over-hyped and congested it is, they'll be off to the next place.

I didn't know Giant and CVS were considered "high end shops" in Northern Arlington.

The wine just shot from my nose.

No. Really, it's not. It's a fine place to live, I'm sure, but I don't think it even cracks the top 5 neighborhoods.
